...if only because the categories made more sense to me. They were more thorough and more nuanced. I'm not sold on the pairing of "Music" and "Lyrics."

Hmmm. I don't miss the mess it became in some forums. The star system was counter productive, and the moderators tend to mean it's a much more civillized place to be. That said music is a bit inactive in comparison - so please contribute and spur some more action. There are very knowledgable and fun people in there.

Heh... most of the forums I browse through here still get quite messy. I also feel like the same questions get repeated over and over again; I'm noticing that here more than I did on Abuzz.

I like a2k much better than the mess Abuzz became in the last months of existance. Wouldn't go back if they revived it

I might... Just so I could say a few things, unrestricted and unmonitored.

Then, I'd feel all better and come back to A2K refreshed and back to my regular, calm and pleasant self. No one would ever have to know I used such language.

...especially when I can just sit back, relax, and help the high school students in the History, English and Literature sections who are looking for A2Kers to do their homework for them! And if I get bored I can just pop by the Spirituality & Debate section for the nightly sermon.

Abuzz had it's share of the "homework challenged" as well. AND more than it's share of retarded threads too. It wasn't quite the perfect heaven you seem to be envisioning.

I'll admit, it took me awhile to get used to this place. Compared to Abuzz it's tamer and initially seems less interesting. But it grows on you.

I hope I didn't give the impression that I was envisioning that. Abuzz was no utopia! As I said, it's pretty much the organization of the categories that I miss... they were thorough enough that it actually helped filter some of the idiocy into specific places and made them easy to avoid.

Then again, at least Abuzz always had something to react to. There are days when I'd almost rather have that than, say, "Does anyone know that song from the Pepsi commerical?"

Edgar would surely be missed here. I don't know Abuzz, A2K has always been my home. Can't be bothered by some idiotic threads in S&R, or Humor, or wherever. As in real life - when I dislike some places or people, heck I just don't go there. Shrug.
