Michigan's Muskegon's finest received a call about a hostage situation in a house. Believing the hostage was in immanent danger the supervisor sent in two teams, one through the front door and one through the back. One of the police officers saw a man with a gun and fired on him. The police officer fired on returned fire and the two officers exchanged 12-15 shots at one another before they realized they were shooting at each other. Turns out there was no hostage situation.
Sounds like these guys need to visit the practice range.

Reminds me of a story a few years ago concerning the Flint police force. An argument in the parking lot outside a station escalated to the point of gunfire. Something in the neighborhood of 200 rounds were exchanged, as I recall. No one was hurt.
This, too, was in Michigan.
