Is anyone on this? Was reading this article about how Madonna is on it and was wondering if anyone here was. Would love to know more about it
Macrobiotic Diet
I have a dear friend who now lives up in Boston, live here for a
few months one summer, and she is still deeply into macrobiotic
cooking. EVERYTHING is macrobiotic. Even down to the type of
pots and pans you use. She buys all organic food which IS a bit
pricey. Lots of tofu. I never would have believed that I could
actually LIKE TOFU. Good grief. It was SO nice to have someone
else doing all the cooking that it made up for some of the more
annoying aspects of sharing my space with her. She actually
studied this kind of cooking somewhere in upstate New York. I'll
have to drop her a line to ask where she studied her macrobiotics.
What I adore the most about this cooking is the use of lots of
cabbage and Udon noodles. I never tasted Udon noodles before,
but once you wrap your lips around them, they are addictive.
(to me anyway) And tofu simply takes on the flavor of whatever
you cook it with. I believe I lost some weight that summer. I
couldn't get into those sheets of dried seaweed though. Kind of
like what they wrap some types of sushi in, but I never did develop
a taste for them. I also never tried making french toast out of tofu
either. I will have to get back to you about where she studied though.
