United States declared war on Japan following the attack on Pearl Harbor. What was President Franklin Roosevelt's pretext to enter the European theater?
a.) United Kingdom's plea for help
b.) The German invasion of the Soviet Union
c.) The German declaration of war on the United States
d.) Germany's threats on the United Kingdom
Is this a homework question?
The answer is c, of course, as every schoolboy knows. As soon as the US declared war on Japan, following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Germany declared war on the US. No 'pretext.'
