Not too long ago i was in the hospital for a spleen problem. Turned out to just be some strange thing on food poisioning.. ( eh. yeah)
During the C-T scan, an ovarian cyst was found.
The doctor at the time told me that they just go away. Rarely do they ever need some kind of intervention.
They dont cause cancer, and shouldnt be a problem.
This was in december/ january.
He told me it was on my right side.
Now I hurt in that area. ALOT.
Espically during menstrual cycle time.
I know women have these removed all the time and I know the break down of what they are. Essentially just small fluid pockets.
Has anyone had one? Did it get worse before getting better?
I had one....they put my on birth control pills for 3 months...it went away...
I freaked a little, but called my friend at the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund...his Mom died of ovarian cancer....I knew he'd give me the straight scoop.
Once he told me the chances of it turning into something was slim, I didn't worry.
If it hurts though, I'd go back to the doctors.
I know it wont turn into anything else.
It is just a pocket of fluid.
No biggie
but
pain.....................anyone?
i can feel it when I walk, forget sitting down , and holy cow, right before my period I feel like I have a pencil shoved sideways in my crotch.
Shewolf, I know it's really none of my business, but I sincerely hope everything's alright.
Try this site for some info:

I hope it helps.
A former colleague had some rather serious problems as a result of ovarian cysts.
Definitely something you want to keep on top of.

In terms of pain, I can say from my friend's experience that things can get very very bad. And dangerous.
and we all know I love medlineplus so ...

Apparently my only option is to have it removed since it is causing so much pain.
I talked to 2 doctors. And both of them said that, OR.. just wait it out because sometimes they pop or subside on thier own.
Since the removal would not be entirely medically necessary according to one, it would be hard for me to get done with no insurance.
thanks for the information.
I am still going through the websites now.
