Spring is here! Finally!
So tonight it will be aspargus for the first time this year - from Alsace in France. With some Serano ham and potatoes. And olive oil and parmesan cheese on the aspargus. Hmmmmm!
Savory custard... you're giving me ideas...
I love serrano ham...when I lived in Spain the bars would have big shanks hanging from the ceiling...as good as prosciutto
There's a chicken in the oven as I type. It smells great and I'm starving.
I have a vision of this poor chicken, sweat pouring off its beak, wings flapping frantically as it beats on the oven door.
We just had dinner: lamb, dried tomatoes, sardines,
small red potatoes, feta cheese, some fresh rosemary
along with good french baguette.
petite sirloins, charcoal grilled...with a spinach salad
Grilled out tonight too...marinated steak, sliced potatoes with onions, green pepper, sprinkled with shredded cheddar and mozarella cheese, corn on the cob and sliced cucumbers and tiny grape tomatoes. Delicious dinner.

It made a terrible ruckus.
pesto and shells last night AND tonight.
Oscar chicken for lunch and dinner. (that involves chicken, scallops, shrimp, wild rice, sun dried tomatoes, and stuff... good. but all i can do is make gurgling sounds and roll my eyes. quite full.
Tired, cold & hungry after work tonight, so made my first pasta (penne with my el quicko marinara sauce) in ages. I needed something filling & comforting which could be made fairly quickly from (mainly) existing cupboard supplies. Quite heavy-handed with the garlic, but what the hell! Yum! I made so much that it'll probably be tomorrow night's dinner, too.
<burp!>
Breakfast for dinner tonight - Set diced and drained a beautiful tomato, then I sauteed mini-brats and portabellinis - threw in the diced tomato - cooked it for a while - and then poured over beaten egg to make a tomato/mushroom omelette, with mini-sausages and sourdough toast on the side.

How much does lamb cost in the US?
we had lamb chops and veggies mashed potatoe steamed carrot & broccoli and mushroom filled with fetta cheese and fresh thyme topped with mature chedder and popped under the griller.
That sounds absolutely delicious!
It does!
I'm getting hungry reading this!
dadpad, where I live in Canada, local lamb is available, along with
New Zealand Lamb, which is what we prefer. A package of two frenched racks of lamb weighing 700 grams costs $22, and a 600 gram package containing six loin lamb chops costs around $12.
I assume your $12 is Canadian dollar. 1 aud =.84 can
so looks like we have a similar price
Lamb loin chops cost around $14-15 Aud/kg
Last night I made black bean burritos on whole wheat tortillas with homemade pico de gallo. Also had corn with red and jalapeno peppers. Purrty good. I'm finished cooking until Saturday. I'll live on the leftovers.
