the dill we grow here in ontario seems to be a lot milder than chives .
i'd take the dill over chives anytime .
will parsley work ?

Aw, thanks for responding hamburger! You're a brick! Very Happy

I'd prefer dill, too, but ....
I have ordinary chives & the stronger, garlic variety, too.
Also (flat leaf) parsley.
Which of those would you choose?

Lots of flat leaf parsley would take it into a more Egyptian direction - which would be quite nice.

Set and BrendaLee met me after work tonight. We ended up at the Sky Dragon Restaurant for dim sum. A really nice meal. I finally got to try soup-filled dumplings. Wowser!!

That's a thought, ehBeth! Idea
Thanks!
The fetta gives it a bit of punch, too, thankfully.

Thanks.
Still considering my options here. Very Happy
The ordinary variety or the "garlic" variety, Swimpy? Not sure about garlic & fetta/ricotta together.

I love garlic in everything, but if they don't like dill, chances are garlic will not go over well.

Good thinking, 99! Very Happy

Jeeze some folk live sheltered (culinary) lives, don't they? Sigh. Lucky they're good people, that's all I can say!

... actually it's just one picky eater (allergies, etc, etc.) in a group of around 10 ... including some children.
And he probably won't touch may baked thingie offering, anyway ...
So perhaps I should just go over-board? Dill, heaps of garlic, the lot! Laughing

Off to check the state of the chives & parsley in the garden.

Thanks for your suggestions, folks!

Bye!

So, at "the club", I had the venison. Oddly, later as we toured the facility, we ran into Santa in the locker room....

Did my last minute "Christmas" shopping at the Farmer's Market this morning. Bought a variety of spicy sausages, some buns and Ezekiel bread, pears and parsnips (hey, that gives me an idea for soup!), fresh apple cider and for dinner tonight -- veggie samosas. The market smelled soooo good and Santa was there hamming it up. Takes me awhile but I guess I'm finally in the mood for Christmas.

cleo , bailey , ehbeth and setanta arrived from toronto about two hours ago .
a "light lunch" had been prepared by mrs h for all of us .
the doggies had some homemade oxtail-broth with carrots and kibble - some of the kibble was left in the bowl , but no broth or carrots ???
the human species feasted on crown porkroast , potatoe pie , baby bok choi and carrots , plenty of gravy , side salad and cole-slaw and MY famous "herring salad" - prepared yesterday , so it was "extra good" today .
there is some snoozing going on somewhere now .

Thanks for your last minute suggestions yesterday for my baked ricotta thingie, Swimpy & ehBeth. A very generous mixture of chopped chives & parsley did the trick very nicely. Why, I was even asked (twice!) for the recipe! Surprised
