I made a big pot of chicken chili yesterday so we’re having leftovers tonight. I made it a tad bit too spicy but my little family likes it.

@jcboy,
I worked some pan fried chinese noodles, with soy sauce, garlic, spicy sesame sauce, canola, and a bunch of stuff - cabbage, green beans, pre sauteed onions, pre sauteed tofu, pepper flakes, and so on. I might have posted on this at the time.

Anyway, leftovers tonight.

just put a duck breast in the convection toaster oven - with a swab of malt vinegar and a couple of grinds of sea salt

simple is best with duck breast (IMNSHO)

I think there are still some spinach/cheese ravioli in the fridge. They'd be good on the side with some other veg that I have yet to identify.

So is that what those toaster ovens are for? Cool

@jcboy,
Convection toaster ovens (vs the regular ones) can be used for a lot of "serious" cooking. Especially if you've got one of the big ones - they used to be crazy expensive 15 - 20 years ago. Now they're really affordable and incredibly handy. The convection function is the same as the one found on big ovens - cooks things really quickly (something to do with the convection fan).

@ehBeth,
I think that is what I gave away.

This is a little family owned pizza parlor in town. Take out only, no seating inside. They also have calzones, sandwiches, wings and salads. This is by far the best pizza in town. We didn't have time to cook tonight so I ordered a large pizza and salad.

@jcboy,
The Puerto Rican is cooking tonight. Grilled chicken breast, potatoes au gratin and this wonderful caesar salad. I almost got a picture of the chicken but he told me to get out of the kitchen. Razz

@jcboy,
Snort... outta there.

So, are there anchovies in the dressing?

Whether or not so, that looks great.

@ossobuco,
I'm getting around to making chinese bao buns, my version. One batch will be Char siu bao, meat and sauce already cooked, but the rest I'm making up from stuff in the refrigerator or freezer. Sort of international bao parade.
The dough will probably be done just as I'm getting sleepy, so I'll likely put it in the back of the refrigerator for a night rest.

Antonio and I are waiting for the Puerto Rican to get home from the gym then the three of us are going out for sushi.

@jcboy,
ooooo I want sushi.

I am making chicken. I don't know what I am doing with it yet. We'll have a salad and maybe rice? I dunno. I am hungry - I just don't feel like cooking.

Set and the ancient dogs are having my lunch leftovers from Ninki. Sushi, Japanese dumplings, chicken teriyaki, veg tempura, sticky rice. Eileen and I went early - we both ordered Bento Box 1 - no shrimp - extra veggies. The meal started with miso soup and little salads. So tasty - but waaaaaaaay too much food.

I'm browsing around in the kitchen, trying to decide what I'd like.

@ehBeth,
Roger and I went to Denny's, and I had a turkey patty burger with chipotle sauce (talk about mild) and jalapenos and a bun I tossed half of. As a side, I ordered sauteed mushrooms and they were surprisingly good. I've had the odd good meal at Denny's so I'm not as nasty as usual about chain places. I put the mushrooms in a doggy carton, so

dinner is mini farfalle and the mushrooms and leftover spicy broccoli with mmmm sauce (spicy tomato or just butter/o.oil? since I'm out of 1/2 and 1/2 to make a faux alfredo), with a topping on slivered what is it? cheese (m. jack, I think). It's early yet for these decisions.

We went to Vue sushi and martini bar downtown, I like their food and the place but the service kind of sucks. They hire dingalings that will walk past your table three times before asking if you need anything. You almost have to put your foot out and trip them to get them to stop.

@jcboy,
Well, that all looks nice and fresh.

I'm your opposite, I get irritated by staff asking if I need help (especially for the fifth time, when my mouth is full and I am thinking about something or other). If I need something, I'll signal. I don't blame the servers - it seems a management decision.

@jcboy,
My pasta came out well - I cut way down - farfalle, mushroom spicy tomato butter - olive oil sauce, a bit of cheese, all hot and al dente at the same time. (That doesn't always happen)

@mismi,
We ended up eating chicken noodle soup...it's just me and the boys (my babies) so I made it easy...I am a lazy ass tonight. All those financial hoops I had to jump through today wore me out.

money sucks. I think I would rather barter...

I wonder...
