Next up will be the duck breasts.

I semi-roasted the duck breasts in the sauce created from roasting the turkey breast ... and stirred in a couple of spoonfuls of Silver Shred marmalade ...

I cheated and sampled a tiny bit

@margo,
you're going to need to add at least a half-dozen layers to that light cotton sarong - something with a hood would be best - don't forget mittens and a scarf and good heavy socks as well

now hurry up ... I am going to have to close the door soon ... we're getting chilled

@margo,
Hurry up, Margo! I wanna hear about that roasted duck breast.

I think I'm heading for an olden clam recipe - Craig Claiborne's Spaghetti (whatever) with Anchovies and Clams (and rosemary, garlic, and red pepper flakes).
For something green, I'll thaw some previously cooked kale, and put it with some tomato sauce/chipotle in adobo sauce/chicken broth for a light soup.

@ehBeth,
Don't need more details - duck and potatoes. How could it get better!?

We had a fairly ordinary seafood lunch at an old hotel in Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.
http://www.thecarrington.com.au/

It would not have been my choice, but my elderly aunt wanted to go. Absolutely foul weather all the way there and back (about 2 hours there and 1.5 hours back). We had rain, more rain, then torrential, losing visibility, rain, thunder and lightning - and then we struck the fog! And did I mention terrible traffic on the way up?

It was so foggy in Katoomba that I missed the hotel the first time I passed it.

Not one of your truly great days....but memorable.

@margo,
roast pork with apples and a black current & apple jelly glaze going into the slow cooker momentarily, should be good about 4:00 pm

baked sweet potato, brussel sprouts (par boiled and then browned with some garlic and oil), roasted veg (parsnip, carrot and golden beet), a broccoli slaw with a raspberry vinaigrette/mayonnaise dressing and cranberries will round out the meal

@djjd62,
I like your choice of foods. My mouth waters. I'd better get my gasket fixed.

@Ragman,
Me too. I just spent a half hour chasing down broccoli slaw recipes, which side tracked me to some indian food sites, first for spicy cabbage salad, and then dahl recipes. And I got Smitten Kitchen back on my flogs bookmark list.

I had my in laws over for Thanksgiving and I cooked the turkey and all the trimmings, so the Puerto Rican is making Christmas dinner, he’s cooking a honey-baked ham! Later this week I’ll be making a ham and bean soup with the leftovers!

@margo,
Oh Margo! you should have been here dearie!

We had the simplest food......glorious cherries and home grown peaches, lovely ham, salad, horseradish, mushrooms, Brie followed by very good chocolates and a beach walk with Sebastian.

No fog or rain!

Normally Katoomba is so lovely. What a pity. I think pub Chriatmas food is generally pretty awful.

@ossobuco,
Check it out Osso, they had fresh tomatoes in the store today. Tonight the Puerto Rican will be making my favorite dish, Chili Verdi.

Went to a Turkish restaurant a few subway stops away with my friend Brenda.

I reviewed it at Yelp.

I'm going to learn how to make these - little Turkish dumplings served with yogurt sauces, tomato sauce and lots of paprika
