@ossobuco,
I think I need to post an apology, well, a tempered apology. My husband's mother lived, according to her children, in a fanciful world of her youth. I could only agree with them the many times we talked. On challenging her, I'm not the bitch I seem, plus that was their family, so I was quiet. (imagine!)

She probably was not well when she made the lime jello with the mustard, plus she had to deal with the apostate who lived with her son.
So I don't want to make fun - just to mark an action that can spark a reaction.

We had some salmon with cranberry sauce - weird combination, but it tasted so good, even the kid liked it.

@CalamityJane,
Tomorrow Antonio’s class is having a little party and everyone will bring a snack. I was trying to think of a healthy snack but one that 20 five year olds would like, so I found Martha Stewarts recipe for chocolate covered almonds. I made to batches, chocolate and white powered sugar almonds, the kids should be bouncing off the walls by the end of the day.

Here is the recipe I used, they are quite tasty!

OK, so yesterday my husband and I ate Chicos Tacos for dinner. For those of you who don't know what they are, check out Aaron Sanchez, Food Network Star Chef, talking about "The Best Thing I Ever Ate". http://www.hispanickitchen.com/video/chicos-tacos-in-el-paso-the

They are soooo good!

@outgoingpeep,
You should not be allowed to post such photographs this close to dinner time.

Have it down to two dinners.
Monster burgers, with the works, or a seafood linguine.

Antonio’s aunt Janice is in town and will be coming over today. We are making Opera Fudge, her favorite!

@Irishk,
No wonder Martha could make them with all that time she had on her hands while in prison

@jcboy,
Wow! Looks like you've got several options for creating a local business for yourself... gardening, remodeling, interior decorating, day care for pets and kids, and now candy-making.

At the very least, you've got the makings for a very interesting how-to blog on all these various subjects.

@jcboy,
What's the recipe? Is it basically a divinity covered in chocolate?

@Butrflynet,
I was Martha Stewarts Opera Fudge recipe. I found it here online. It took forever, I actually had to knead that sugar for 45 minutes.

We are getting ready for dinner out tonight. Can’t post where we’re going because of that damn google. But I can later Cool

bought some bok choy for a stir fry the other day

tonight i chopped the rest up, along with some carrot and celery, put all the veg in a pot along with one can Primo chicken soup with broad noodles, and extra stock, made a sort of wonton soup without the wontons, really nice with a splash of soy sauce on this chilly evening

@jcboy,
Ha, you'll never complain about a workout at the gym again!

Your candy thermometer looks state of the art. Mine is ridiculous, the clamps close to useless.

@ossobuco,
hehe, it is, I bought it last week, wasn't sure how to use it until Marco showed me, who would have thought you put it in the pot Cool

Making a soup with the leftover sweet potatoes I took home from thanksgiving dinner at butrflynet and bbb's and popped in the back of the freezer. Using chicken broth, water, am caramelizing a chopped spanish onion to toss in, may add curry or turmeric. May add remaining squash ravioli from this week (or not), may add frozen green peas.
