Had dinner at a French/ Guadeloupe restaurant in Brooklyn.

Had salade de betrave (Beet salad with mango and goat cheese) for an appetizer and the daily special of some kind of broiled fish on coconut rice.

Tres magnifique!!

Made an artichoke dip.
Scraping each petal was worth it.
One for the bowl, one for me.

@dadpad,
There are at least several varieties! The coolest is Russian Red, imo.

Kale(s)!

Pita bread with onions, cilantro, greek olives, tomatoes, feta bits, chopped green beans, falafel, greek yogurt with lots of garlic - alas, I remembered why I don't like that packaged falafel stuff.

I baked a 'loin' of turkey which had been brined and marinated in southwestern spices over thinly sliced tomatoes and grape tomatoes. All that with a side of sauteed garlicky kale. Yum!

@littlek,
We went to a church hall fish fry back in my hometown neighbourhood. hamburgboy still lives in the house I grew up in there. Lots of the old neighbours showed up at the church hall. Twas fun.

Great fish, home-made coleslaw, awesome baked beans, really good fries. There were buns'n'stuff that I didn't have. I did try the raisin pie. It was a bit <makes puckery face> sweet. I need more tea to wash the effect of that pie out.

I'm cooking up a big batch of chicken, lentil & pumpkin curry in my slow cooker, for tonight's dinner. Plus quite a bit to be frozen for later (if I leave out the last minute coconut milk & baby spinach leaves). Smells very good!

@msolga,
Tuna burgers and a sesame infused seaweed salad. All in a bun . Enjoyed with an endive with bacon dressing salad and some apple pie with cheddar melt on top.

@Rockhead,
What is cream tuna Rock?

Very lean steak seasoned with garlic and parsley and a sprinkle of salt grilled - rare, sliced thin. Asparagus tossed with olive oil and garlic and salted - broiled it until just tender.
