There is now a contention that "the police" (someone's police) had one or more of the murder victims under surveillance prior to the murders, and that they were followed to the farm on which the murders occurred. CBC radio's report claims that at least two newspapers are making this claim. Police spokesmen deny this, which is understandable, given the unflattering light in which it would cast their abilities.
There is a new development in this case.

Police in Winnipeg have arrested a number of suspects in connection with the April deaths in Ontario of eight men with links to the Bandidos motorcycle gang.
Winnipeg Police spokesman Constable Blair Good confirmed the arrests early Friday morning but would not give further details of the operation, which involved officials from both local police and the Ontario Provincial Police.
A news conference was scheduled for later Friday morning.
