The repressionists want to remove guns,
saying they are sometimes used to facilitate crime.
They fail to understand
that the actual weapon is the HUMAN MIND,
whose cleverness has not been controlled nor restrained
(even in prison). This mind expresses itself perseveringly,
into the manifestation of its felt needs or desires,
and it has FOREVER to do the job that it selects
(e.g., the art of the gunsmith/merchant).
Prohibition is futile.
How good was the Prohibition of the 1920s ??
Can I have some money? I'm gonna go to the store
Can I have some money? I can't tell you what it's for
Can I have some money? you know it's you that I adore
Can I have some money? don't ask me what it's for
Since we've been together you've been good to me
You only hit me when you wanna be pleased
Can I have the car keys? I'm gonna go for a ride
Can I have the car please? I'm going out for a while
Can I have the car now? I wanna drive all around
Can I have the car dear? I'm gonna to leave this town
I won't be asking your permission to leave
I won't be asking not to have this baby please
And I won't be asking a devil for a bus fare please
And I won't be asking I had to see you bleed
Ssssssh
Visualize
That's right
Pray baby
One two three
Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot
Can I have my lipstick? that was such a surprise
Can I have my lipstick? I'm going out for a ride
I'm not a little girl, and you sure are not my dad
You don't even know what you almost had
Sonic Youth

Perhaps... but it's a whole lot easier than trying to regulate "
THE HUMAN MIND." Just because guns aren't the root of the problem doesn't mean they're not worth worrying about. Getting to the root of the problem may not be possible without delving into some pretty ugly politics; this is one of those cases where I'm happy to settle for the next best thing rather than contemplate the ethical ramifications of the human mind.
I'm with Edgar. The rhythim implied in the thread title made me think this was one of the rap battle threads.
OmSigDAVID,
How far would you suggest we relax this prohibition:
Fully Automatic?
Grenades?
Mortars?
Bazookas?
What maximum caliber and number of grains per shot?
Don't shoot, David. I was having a bit of fun is all.
"You can get much further with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone." -- Al Capone
Sheriff John Brown always hated me;
For what, I don't know.
Ev'ry time I plant a seed,
He said, "Kill it before it grows."
He said, "Kill them before they grow."
And so, oh, now, now,
Read it in the news.
Freedom came my way one day,
And I started out of town, yeah!
All of a sudden I saw Sheriff John Brown
Aiming to shoot me down.
So I shot, I shot, I shot him down.
And I say, if I am guilty I will pay.
When all we have are guns, we see all the worlds problems as targets
In 1992, handguns killed 33 people in Great Britain and 13,200 in the United States.
So it is the minds of Americans that cause this descrepancy, not the strict gun control of the UK. I see.
actually its the minds of AMericans with guns in their hands
how do you see it farmerman? Do you think the freedom to carry guns is worth the price? Most other democracies seem to manage without them, why is it such an issue in the US?

Did u think that I was advocating
regulation of the human mind ?
I assure u that I was not.
My point is that as long as guns can be made
( like bathtub gin )
by blackmarket gunsmiths,
there is NO HOPE of preventing criminal accesss to guns.
I hope that u are well prepared for all emergencies;
especially the life-threatening ones.
OmSig, what is your response to my question...and my stats?
Yes, I expect they do....but people die from hammers a lot less easily. The real problem seem to arise when, realising someone is coming with a hammer, the other guy pulls out a gun because hey, he has one...and it's self-defense right?
