Hi! Here are 10 senteces I wrote for class including the vocabulary my teacher gave us. Please correct (they're due tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM so if someone could post back tonight that would be WONDERFUL. ENJOY!!)
1) Quiero mejorar mi español.
2) Ella estaba sentada con la espalda erguida.
3) Yo fui a la recámara de mi amigo.
4) Los pozos nos dan agua.
5) Yo nunca madrugo el domingo.
6) Yo nunca he ordeñado una vaca.
7) En mi dormitorio, no hay fogatas porque tenemos electricidad en nuestras recámaras.
8) Siempre hay una cerca alrededor de una cárcel.
9) En el verano, no anochece hasta las diez de la noche.
10) Cuando amanece, la luz me despierta.
11) Después del almuerzo, atardece, y tenemos que regresar a nuestras clases.
12) Yo me arrimé a la profesora después de la clase.
i think it would be "Quiero a mejorar mi espanol" since mejorar is unconjugated.
also on 2, i am not for sure, but maybe change "la espalda" to una espalda or su espalda. im not for sure on it, it just sounds funny to me.
on 10 i think it should be cuando amanezco
and on 11 you put "after breakfast, it darkens, and we have to return to class"?
also, a major help for me when i was taking spanish was
this site. it is very basic but it gives you a general idea of what is being said. but you have to be careful typing english to spanish because "right" can be "derecha"(as in take the next right after the stoplight) or it can be "verdad"(as in that is the right answer)
They're all correct. My only observation is that in spanish, pronuons before a verb are not obligatory becasue the verb conjugation already states which person is doing the action (not like in english) and at least in my experience, noone uses them.
so for example 6
Nunca he ordeñado una vaca it's exactly the same as the one you wrote.
number 12's arrimar sounds strange, mostly because it has other meanings where I live, though on other places maybe they use that... I try not to generalize any rules on Spanish because it's spoken in so many parts that there are lots of uses for words, so for taught spanish... the sentence is correct.
crimsontriad,
2 is correct because infinitive doesn't need a preposition and 'con la espalda erguida' means 'with a straighten-out back' meaning it's not curved.
10,
amanezco is 'I wake up'
amanece is 'the sun is rising' or 'the sun rises'
ijole. why make a post when you dont need any advice?
Beats me... they're funny sentences though.
