Now THAT is truly what I would call amazing progress in
medicine and science. God only knows how many of us out
here are afflicted with what is called "a teacher's bladder" (OR
in my case pharmacist's bladder) essentially the bladder of a
person whose job made it VERY difficult to get to a bathroom
immediately. Consequently, the NORMAL human bladder is
only intended to hold a maximum of about 600cc, I've found
out (while hospitalized and on medication that interferes with
urination ) that I have a bladder capable of holding TWICE THAT
AMOUNT. When I saw a specialist in the uro-genital field,
he was astounded at the capacity of my bladder. So was I. At
the time, he felt that I had "held it too long & for too many years"
to the extent that it had lost its elasticity & may never function
properly again. Fortunately for me, my niece is an accupuncturist
& after 2 treatments, my bladder was okay. BUT - it's always
nice to know that I can get a brand new one if I ever need it. Laughing

It's not healthy though to keep urine for a long time in the bladder.

I'll get more excited if they can grow a pancreas, given my family history of diabetes.

That is REALLY cool! I wonder how much longer before they're going to be able to regenerate limbs and whatnot. That would be super useful....

So lets see, we can do bladders, cartilage...synthetic skin. I think we're on our way to realistic looking/feeling cyborgs. Sign me up!
