I normally have a Turkey sandwich and some Dill & Yogurt Kettle chips for lunch. Today I have packed three mini dill pickles to accompany my usual lunch. They are of the Kosher variety and I am looking forward to ingesting them.
A mini dill pickle over in the UK, (well, certainly my part of the world) is known as a "wally".
Just thought I'd share this ground breaking piece if information with you.
I often have a large portion of fish and chips and a wally.
A wally, huh? I like it... I think I will start calling them wallies, too.
I'm having a sandwich with bread-and-butter pickle slices, myself. Of course, I have to wait another 3 hours to eat it, otherwise it would be breakfast!
It is the anticipation of lunch that makes it so worthwhile, blacksmithn. Delayed gratification.
MMMM, pickles....I don't have any pickles but I want some now.
I hate delayed gratification. Gratification delayed is gratification denied!
uh-oh
want any ice cream, Bella?
I wait as long as I possibly can for lunch. I am convinced that after lunch, time actually physically slows down. So in order to make my afternoon seem like less of a drag, I try to wait until 1 o'clock or so to go to lunch.
I just got an invitation to lunch at Chez Zee's!
ooh la la!
I'll let all you plebs know what I had a little later.
Oo, me too Jpin. The morning seems to go by much faster so I too wait as long as possible to go to lunch.
That way, I feel like I've just gotten back from lunch and its time to leave.
Also, I physically slow down after lunch too....
Not me. I have no self-control. Plus, I'm in the office at the ungodly hour of 6:00 a.m. and by the time 11 rolls around I'm completely famished. I'm lucky if I last until 11:30.
Well I sort of cheat, blacksmithnm. I usually bring a granola bar taht I eat at my desk around 10:00. That and a cup of coffee tides me over until 1:00.
I usually buy Claussen's kosher dill pickles but picked up some Boar's Head brand (refrigerator section of the grocery). I have a new favorite pickle.
I usually consume a handful or so of raw almonds, but it never fails that when the clock hits eleven, I start salivating like Pavlov's dog.

Oh... boars head has good deli meats, too. No fillers or preservatives... very tasty.
I just finished my wallies... they were delicious. I think I may have some more tomorrow.
