Meaningless or Meaningful?

Reply Mon 3 Apr, 2006 03:43 am
On Wednesday of this week,
at two minutes and three seconds
after 1:00 in the morning,

the time and date will be

01:02:03 04/05/06.

That won't ever happen again...ever.

That is all.

It WILL for us in the civilised world, as 04/05/06 is actually the 4th of May.

Do you think that maybe the convergence of these numbers is a <whispers conspiratorially> (shiver) sign! Sad

These are the end times. The numbers merely substantiate that.

First,my sweet Lord, it's the civilized world, not civilised, and, here in the heart and homeland of intelligent discourse, dates are listed by Month, Day and Year, the exceptions being historic anniversaries such as the Fourth of July or in poetic use as in Longfellow's Paul Revere's Ride:

"On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.

..."

Egad, I seem to have brought up reminders of the unpleasantness our countries experienced some time ago and from which yours seems never to have gotten over.

=====

Plus, as several people elsewhere pointed out to me, unless you are on military time, it will occur twice on the appointed day, once at 1:02 AM and again at 1:02PM.

To say nothing of it occurring in every bloody time zone around the planet.

*unless they are on my birthday check.

PS: I said 'bloody' to make His Lordship feel at home.

If I were to attempt to civilize an American, it would be spelt with a "z" (zed.....or zee, as you would say), but then it would take on the past tense, and you would be civilised, with an "s".

I apologiZe for bringing this up. There, look....I've apologiSed.

On the date thing, civilised countries tend to follow logic and work up from the smallest to the largest.

Um....whaddya mean, it'll never happen again?

It'll happen again on April 5, 2106. And every thousand years after that. (Yep, it's just numbers.)

DeLay resigning, though...that's truly momentous.
