Sometimes in internet writing people use ETA instead of PS at the end of their messages. I wonder what ETA stands for?

The only use I've seen of the abbreviation is Estimated Time of Arrival, which surely doesn't fit in place of PS.

ETS, of course, is Estimated Termination of Service, often measured in days, hours, and minutes.

dlowan,

The cockles of my heart are warmed far more by your 15-apostrophe greeting than a 21-gun salute by anybody else.

Oops! I just noticed that blacksmithn (to whom I send an apology) already added the "Edited To Add" suggestion. Perhaps some savvy person can add a clear and simple definition of that term.

Hmmm ... "eta" as a letter of the Greek alphabet wouldn't do at all. Will continue to ponder, though I think "edited to add" is the most likely answer.
