"Now Mammana has his eyes on another Central Ohio case -- that of Andrew Selva -- an admitted rapist of teenage boys who is now living in Hilliard.

Selva was originally charged with 20 counts of rape.

He agreed to two counts of sexual battery in a plea agreement and Franklin County Judge John Connor labeled Selva a sexual predator and gave him probation. "

So here we have another child rapist let go.
Is this becoming the norm now

I hate to see this kind of stuff but I really have to ask...

why the hell did they let him plea this if they had any kind of case?

There is a transcript from the program 'Scarborough Country' where the prosecutor in this case was on the program available on-line at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11762586/ (It starts about 2/3rds of teh way down).

Basicly it boils down to the prosecutor didn't request jail time with the idea that they'd leave it up to the judge to decide. The judge looks at the case and is wondering why the prosecutor isn't asking for jail time... The perp walks with probation.
