Obama has implied this, but he never actually said it CJ. The quote is fictitious.

Yeah right, cyclops, it is a given you will now defend Obama to his last breath, regardless of what he says, but personally I don't need him going around lecturing me about learning another language, thanks, but no thanks. I learned some German once and never used it. I would like to learn Spanish, great, but I have no need and would likely not use it enough to be worth the time to do it. Members of my family know some, but it isn't of monumental importance.

It's a given that you will attack Obama no matter what he says, for things that have nothing to do with what he actually said. Right?

You should note that Obama said nothing about your old ass learning another language.

He implied we had gone wrong, cyclops, he did imply I should know it. Not that I care. And I have complimented Obama on a few things, maybe you missed it.

And I am just like anyone else, I interpret what politicians say, not only explicitly, but by innuendo they also send messages by what they say. Maybe you can't see it or maybe you do not interpret it the same, but it is pretty easy to understand that it happens, so I don't think you can deny it.

By the way, I am becoming more convinced that Obama is going to be a very divisive leader, not what we need right now, but given current politics, I don't know of anyone that can bring things together very well, but he sure isn't the answer.

Yeah, those implications of his, whew. I mean, his shadow messages and hidden meanings in everything he says sure look like trouble, don't they?

At this point, there is not a single 'swing state' in which McCain's numbers are on the rise. He is trending downward in every single battleground. And his national numbers aren't rising either, though they aren't falling.

I think they are trouble. How big a trouble, who knows, we don't know, but yes, I am troubled. He could turn out to be better than expected, or much worse, nobody knows.

Do you not understand that you are being ridiculed?

You can read whatever meaning you wish into ANYTHING that anyone says, but that doesn't give it any actual validity. In this case, there is no valid link between Obama's words and what you seem to have read into it.

You would be pissed at ANY liberal running things; your arguments would be the same if it had been anyone else. So it's difficult to take your fears seriously.

The fact that the Heller decision was as close as it was - the fact that we currently have four USSC judges that don't understand the Constitution and Bill of Rights, means that Nobama must be defeated at all costs.

Sure I understood it, but even in ridicule, you stumbled into an obvious truth. Obama says alot of troubling things, and conflicting things. I think his inexperience is really obvious, but most people are either not watching close enough or don't care. And that is very troubling as well.

It's only troubling if you are wedded to the status quo, and would rather see Republicans stay in charge, and everything stay the way it was.

That isn't going to happen, though, and attempting to make it happen gets ya painted as... a Conservative. Not a popular position these days.

Now, what would the best response to this be? A cutting put-down? A sexually-charged insult? Perhaps some sort of derision for your intelligence.

Instead, I think I will express my sadness that you cannot be a more productive commentator, Cj.

BHO goes after the toothless and the brainwashed.

Sports Illustrated reports he's considering sponsoring a NASCAR....and to get the brainwashed he's going to sponsor several youth christian concerts.

I do not understand the personal insults here directed toward cyclops, although I have some suspicions, however for the sake of cyclops, I do not endorse those kinds of comments. I do not think they are helpful. I do endorse a sense of humor from time to time, but these comments seem to be over the top.

Back to Obama, I think his learning Spanish comments are not going to be helpful. He is simply trying to win the Spanish vote, Mexican vote, Latino vote, and of course it is getting huge because of illegals pouring into this country for the last couple of decades and longer. And it may work with them, but it is so transparently phony, it is sad, sad, sad.

I don't need Lord Obama lecturing us about learning Spanish, when the community he "organized" in Chicago has a miserable record of even passing regular English classes. I think he needs to pull the mote out of his own eye before lecturing the rest of us.

I have to wonder why Obama seems to be dodging this meeting.
By dodging it, it looks like, to me, that he doesnt want to face veterans...

A coalition of military groups is planning a nationally televised town-hall-style meeting with the presidential candidates near Fort Hood, Tex., the largest active-duty military installation in the country. But so far, only Senator John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive Republican nominee, has agreed to attend.

CBS has agreed to broadcast the meeting live from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Aug. 11. The candidates would face questions directly from an audience of 6,000 people, made up of veterans, service members and military families from the base.

Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has not agreed to participate

Popularity is also for elections. If more people want to change from the current status of the brand of conservatism now in charge then your side is in trouble. If they don't like the conservative judges we have recently put in the Supreme Court and don't want more of them, then your side is in trouble. The reverse is true for my side.

Sometimes I feel as though I type such obvious statements I am amazed there is a need at all.
