How hard is that to understand?

you've got more guns than a sane man should have.... should I send a hit squad up to sasquatch land or wherever the hell it is you live to dispatch you?

I gotta ask...
How many guns is that?
And who are you to decide how many guns a person should have?
As long as they are aquired LEGALLY, its nobody's business how many guns a person owns.

well if bush can decide what Saddam is allowed to have in his own country then I should be allowed to decide what cjhsa can have in his yard...or his underground bunker... or meat smoking outbuilding or whatever....

OK, people, I'm starting to get pissed off.

How many threads are there to talk about guns or whether Bush should have started the Iraq war?

If it's about Hillary's support for the war, fine, that's at least a little on-topic. The two cartoons were on-topic (I liked eoe's). But can you please, please stop going off on these totally unrelated tangents?

BBC has just covered the tale of Mr Obama, at his step-mother's new bridegroom-to-be's stag night in The Three Frogs in Bracknell, Berkshire, and his bolting back to his hotel at the sight of a stripper who had been hired in to give the occasion a zing.

threads, even ones as sacrosanct as this one is to you soz, do have a tendency to wander on and off topic when they are so long....and Hillary voted for the war.... as did many other people/... but that doesn't mean she's a supporter of it. there are people right here on A2K that have changed their minds about many thing dickhead george has said and done in the last 7 years....I am happy to say that time has proved me out and I started screaming from the rooftops that he was disastrous screwup in 1999....

This seems to be the stripper story:

Auma's wedding. (His Kenyan half-sister -- same dad, different mom. He has another half-sister -- same mom, different dad.)

She hasn't changed her mind, though, or at least hasn't said any approximation of "I messed up and I realize that" that I know of.

On the one hand, I empathize with you, soz, because there are so many threads where these issues are so much more on-topic ... and in that sense I agree with your reasonable request.

But on the other hand, the Bush Supporter's Thread has been used for years by A2K Bush haters -- including BPB -- as a pulpit for every anti-Bush, anti-Republican, anti-conservative issue they can think of. Not that that excuses the hijacking of this thread, by me or anyone else, but it dampens my zeal to agree with you completely.

She has been dishonest in her so called "support" of the war.

The only candidate who is being honest is McCain who said he supported the war but did not support the Bush Tactics. Only McCain has been saying since day one that the tactics Bush was using would not be successful.

soz gives spendi a gold star:

Tico, I know what you mean. Basically I get what Butrflynet said about how she has found A2K politics to be offputting until recently, and I'm happy that she currently feels like it's more congenial; and I'm aware that people like cyphercat and osso who don't usually participate in these kinds of things are keeping an eye on this thread and pop in now and then. I *like* having these non-regulars pop in, and I *like* how this thread has gone on for more than 700 pages in a relatively on-topic and interesting way. Partly it's the subject -- with the campaign season so damnably long, it's one of the only possible current-events-type topics that can remain, well, topical for almost 2 years. It'll stop being topical by November 5th or so (hopefully! I don't want another squeaker), but until then I'd love to keep it going the way it has been rather than devolving into boring squabbling.

I started my politics blog thread partly because I didn't want to keep plonking links in here but there were things I wanted to have available for future reference -- that's a restriction I put on myself in part to encourage other people to participate here (it's boring if it's just the same one person over and over again, and I realize I've posted a lot today, so with that I'll wrap up. :-))

I will say that while I may have strayed off topic a bit, I have not said one bad thing about Obama on A2K or anywhere else.
