We now know that you dont believe in personal growth, nor in grass roots political action. What a dismal world you live in.

I've done - and currently DO - more 'grass roots' political action than you've ever dreamed of, Hawk. Talking on A2K isn't 'grass roots' political action. That actually requires doing work. This is the opposite of that - just talking about ****.

The part about 'personal growth' is pretty funny coming from you. But, no need to say any more about that.

Politics is exactly all talk.

Where did you go to University again...I think that the California University system must have slipped a lot more badly than I was aware.

Doesn't make any difference to me, because I attended Cal State Hayward when the school had 3,000 students. Embarrassed

It sure as hell ain't. I work hard in evenings and on the weekends to help get Obama and other Dems elected. We do a lot more than talk. But, you wouldn't really know much about that, would ya?

Ya, I went to Michigan State in the early 80's, and I have been a vocal critic of our education system ever since, especially the decline and failure of the university. I sent one kid to WSU and another is at UW but I have been very clear with my kids that they will get no education there, these a job credential issuers now, not educators. I have better hopes for my son, who expects to go to West Point.

@hawkeye10,
I disagree; I earned my BS in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, and it provided me with enough savvy to earn a pretty good living. All my siblings were in the professions - learned in college; my oldest was an attorney, my younger brother an Ophthalmologist, and my sister an RN. Our older son earned his masters at the University of Texas in Austin, and now works for the university. Although our younger son earned a bachelors in Psychology (cum laude), not much in job opportunities. However, I've always told my kids I expected them to go to college, and they could choose their own career field.

@spendius,
my parents took an opposite tack, spendi...

they always told us if we wanted to go to school we had to figure out how to pay for it ourselves.

then they used the money they saved to build a really nice house...

Iraq War/Afghanistan War: Bush started those illegal wars. Taxpayers are stuck with the bill. Both wars have lasted longer than WWI and WWII, and we're still paying.

In case you haven't noticed, invest has become the newest government word meaning spend.

Yeah, you noticed, or you wouldn't be using quotation marks.

@cicerone imposter,
The Iraq war ended under a plan that Bush drew up, even though Obama was president. Obama could have ended the war n Afghanistan any time he wanted to, just by ordering US troops out and leaving it all up to NATO.
Why hasn't he?
