@RABEL222,
Of course it is. Want to relate it to mandatory health insurance? Okay, requiring health liability insurance to prevent one from being sued for spreading smallpox is a close analogy. Otherwise, comparing auto liability insurance to health insurance is a nonstarter - unless you are going to start spouting the same old puke about the social cost of illness. I promise you, it is not original.

The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it one whit less true.

@Cycloptichorn,
I don't think roger understands the concept of "insurance."

Wrong, and highly unlikely, respectively.

Actualloy, Obama's real world approval rating regularly shows as high 40s to low 50s, and is usually a few percentage points better than his disapproval rating, and has pretty much held steady for the last year or so, which is pretty good considering the economy in a death spiral that he inherited and has turned around (check the GDP figures since he took office).

And, speaking of the real world, when trial matches are run with Obama facing each of the garden gnomes that are the potential Republican candidates, Obama pounds ALL of them into rubble. So if the election were held today, it's the GOP that would suffer a catastrophic landslide defeat. Dream on, H2O.

@MontereyJack,
MJackoff, both you and Obama are out of touch with the American people.

I am correct and the described outcome is highly likely.

Enjoy your coming nightmare.

@roger,
Well Roger.

If we didn't require liability insurance, who would end up paying for those injured by people with no assets?

The rest of us would pay for those without insurance.

re H2O

Anybody that wants to can check out the REAL WORLD numbers at www.pollingreport,com.
Anybody that wants to check out H2 Oboy's numbers is going to have to take a can opener to his head, since that's the only place they exist.

Your link to pollingreport didn't get me there. Please try again. And, of course, H2O doesn't post sources because he just makes stuff up. We all know that.

Yes, real world numbers do. Your imaginary ones don't, H2. Get out of that Ridiculous Right bunker you live in, for a change.

I did not expect H2O to source his comment re Obama's popularity in the rest of the world being at 40% and sinking. H2O doesn't do sources, as we are well aware.
But, out of curiosity, I did spend a bit of time working on this.
I found some stuff Gallup has been doing. They don't call it a poll for a number of obvious reasons. Rather, it is an "ongoing survey."
They divided the world into about 6 regions (the Americas, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, etc).
In countries within the region they asked people whether they approved or disapproved of "the American leader." And they did that from 2008 (Bush) and 2009 and 2010 (Obama).
With me so far?
I chose the America's, where Gallup talked to people in 20 countries (excluding the U.S.). I chose the America's because it was 1st on the list and I looked at Bush in 2008. It is a bit of a tedious exercise to wade through as Gallup didn't make adjustments for sample size vs population vs margin of error. Essentially it was raw data, un-aggregated for the region.
It turned out that, for Bush in 2008, his mean, median and mode average came in at around 35% approval (I thought I should do all 3).
The range between high and low was 58 points.
It looks like it would be an interesting exercise to go through. But it would be time consuming. I hopeH2O will source his "40% and sinking" claim. Right?
