@okie,
let's take this back to where it started, shall we?

I think that for one member of the forum to charge that another member is "not taken seriously", that the member doing the boasting should at least have a measure of credibility themselves.

I challenge you to show that you are taken more seriously that POM...

i'll wait.

I will challenge you to tell us all what you believe, so if you have an ounce of courage, try to answer my questions. If I am asked the questions I asked you, I take it as a great opportunity to proudly proclaim that I am solidly conservative. What about you, do you actually believe anything, and if so, are you proud of it, or perhaps you are ashamed of it?

As far as being taken as seriously as POM, I do not frankly care what other people think, I do not do as liberals do, moisten my finger and stick it into the air to see which way the wind is blowing, in other words find out if other people approve of it. I believe it is infinitely more important to have some moral backbone and believe what is correct, right and proper.

In other words, I wish to point out to you that credibility is not measured by how seriously one is taken, especially by liberals in regard to my solidly conservative opinions. In POM's case, she lost her credibility a very long time ago as far as I was concerned, but it is my opinion that even fellow libs do not take her that seriously anymore. At least that is my impression, perhaps you disagree, that is your privilege. If you do, then that also impacts your credibility, Rockhead.

@okie,
Okie.... you don't know squat about being a Liberal. You just spew the Lush Limbaugh lines & pat yourself on the back for being dumber than a rock. I keep waiting to see you guys become embarrassed at the activity of your hypocritical leadership but the more stupid they act the more you "conservatives" seem to adore them.

"People that use logic."

That group of words is not a sentence but a fragment.

@okie,
You should have used the word "seriously" in that post. The sentence structure required an adverb. An adverb is a word that describes how something is done. An adverb modifies a verb.

@okie,
It does not take courage to sit in one's office or one's home, pecking away at a computer, sending messages under a pseudonym to another person using a nom d'email.

It does take patience, however, particularly when one of the people has a skewed understanding, which you do.

Liberals are not hard to figure out. They live in the world of unreality, a world where feelings matter more than reason and reality.

Rockhead,to put it plainly, I am all for change, if it is the right change, but I am not in favor of changing something for the worse. I was not one of those Obama robots mindlessly marching around with "change" signs. I have no blinders, but I am biased against socialists and communist sympathizers, yes I do admit to that. You use the term "modern America," thats fine, but I do not live my life or believe in things simply to please other people. I think people should believe in what is right, proper and moral. If more people had done that in Nazi Germany in the 30's instead of being in step with what was modern Germany of that day, perhaps a few million people would not have had to die? Do you get my point, that principles should trump what is trendy or faddish? Now, I am in no way comparing modern America to Germany of the 30's, but I am using an example of something extreme to illustrate an obvious point that you should already have figured out, that being in step with what is trendy is not the most important thing to aspire to.

Now, I asked you some simple questions about your basic political philosophy. Do you have the honesty and courage to answer them? Here they are again, so you have no excuse for not answering:

To clarify things for us, would you care to explain yourself a bit better, you may be an independent in terms of party affiliation, yes or no, or are you a registered Democrat? More importantly, in regard to actual political philosophy, are you more liberal or more conservative, what would be your claim? Did you vote for Obama, and how enthusiastic was your vote? That would tell us much about your political philosophy.

@okie,
It isn't about being 'trendy,' Okie, not at all. Not that I'm shocked that you don't understand what people are talking about.

I for one am a registered Dem and a proud liberal progressive; and I'll take any argument you put forth and counter it, as you know.

Please define 'liberal progressive' in your own words and tell us why you are proud to be one.

Thanks
