I've just seen an interview with ex-CIA chief Michael Scheuer. WOW!!!!

He said your president doesn't care about troops being killed. He said that all he cared about was electioneering. He said there is no border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He said you have been constantly lied to about Bin Laden's reasons for waging war. He said a lot more troops are required to win the war.
He said the US population and the European populations are going to need another 9/11 before they are prepared to make any sacrifices to win the war. He said you could have stopped Bin Laden years ago and he blamed Clinton and Bush for not doing.

He more or less said that you are all having yourselves on in a self-flattering orgy of armchair warrioring and starring in your own political pantomimes. With which I agree.

The lady who interviewed him, as if she knows anything about these things, was rendered speechless.

For the record, Bush tried his best. But Clinton apparently turned down an offer by the Sudan to take Osama into custody, but Clinton turned it down and said we had no basis to hold him, then tried to get the Saudis to take him, but they would not, so he ended up in Afghanistan. This is one of the huge omissions by the 9/11 Commission, wherein they essentially ignored the fact that Clinton screwed up royally. If Bush had been president then, Bin Laden very likely would have been taken, and perhaps 9/11 might not have happened. This fact is ignored by liberal leftists in this country and worldwide.

Another note, I do agree that Europe is blind, or asleep at the switch and ignoring the growing threat of militant Islam right under their very noses.

Nazis were fascists, and more akin to liberal than they were conservative. They were big government all the way, seizing private property, nationalizing industries, government public works, not far from what Obama is doing right now.

As an aside, I don't think the President should send over more troops. We can't afford to lose another soldier. I hope he doesn't regret it.
Again, thank you for your response, else wise I'd leave this forum for the mean spiritedness I see festering here.

teeny, Obama should fight to win, or simply call everyone home. Face it, Obama is a bust, bigger than LBJ, and LBJ was a sorry racist that decided to buy your votes. Leave the Democrat plantation, teeny, get a spine.

Blacks will be on the forefront in okie's brain for as long as Obama is in office. As soon as there's a credible Jewish or Native American candidate for president, okie will start on them. For the time being, they pose no visible threat to his sense of safety and comfort level.

More lies. Outright lies. Get lost.

You really ought to Google Scheuer. He was merely head of a small bin-Laden unit at the CIA. He was fired from a think tank, and was outed as the author of a book critical of our terrorism policies. His is not a valued opinion for many.

I don't believe that Clinton turned down Sudan's offer to turn over bin-Laden. Any proof?

@H2O MAN,
The troops are going aren't they. A half-promise to bring them back in 18 months can easily be weasled out of if necessary.

Schieffer only thinks he knows what's going on. Who elected him and what sort of can is he carrying? He's insulting the troops playing word games with them to get him up to the ads break. After which something completely different.

Wouldn't it be great if Obama would lead the troops into battle himself.

How would we feel if the leader of the Taliban gave the same speech Obama gave
last night and made the same commitment to leave the battlefield in 18 months?

Oh no, another apologist! The only proof is Clinton's own words, which if you are like the lawyerly Parados, or Clinton, you will parse to mean what you want them to mean. Clinton said Sudan wanted to do business and instead of taking Bin Laden from them because as Clinton said, "we had no basis to hold him," he then pleaded with the Saudis to take him, but they did not, so he then went to Afghanistan when released.

Only an idiot doesn't see virtual proof in Clintons own words, but I guess liberals will defend anything another liberal does, including the lying cheat of a president, Clinton. And now we have Obama on stage lying about Afghanistan. I noticed Rumsfeld called him out, good for Rummy.

@okie,
You got that, Advocate? You're a Clinton apologist, because you don't understand his own words. Only okie has the skill to determine how to interpret what people say. It's a special skill only okie has. He's an amazing a2k member; all knowledgeable about almost everything, and everybody else is a putz and stupid. He just doesn't provide credible sources for his claims, but has excellent imaginary skills.
