Do you really think this post of yours is a meaningful contribution to the discourse in A2K, or do you take the same simple pleasure of baboons, in spreading their scat near and far, but quite close to that of the other members of the troop?

Perhaps you might deign to actually debate Okie rather than pile on with his detractors.

Here is a truly pathetic A2K dynamic:

Someone (usually a conservative) makes a comment to which there are 5 to 7 replies. One or two of the replies actually address what the person has posted.
One or two more simply ridicule the person, and at least 3 more parrot the ridicule in a manner which they, laughingly, believe is significant and unique.

Tell me Advocate, why was it important for you to castigate, once removed, Okie?

Do you think you pointed out a fundamental flaw in Okie's arguments that no one has yet discovered, but of which we should all be aware?

It can't be that Okie's opinions truly enrage you or else you would have responded directly to him.

More likely it is the punk component of a gang mentality.

I don't know how old you are, but when I was a kid there was a recurrent Warner Bros cartoon concerning a big ass bulldog names Spike being tailed by some jittery little mutt of no name.

As Spike marched confidently down the street the little sycophant bounced around his head gibbering things like:

"Yeah Spike, we're going to kill that cat. Right Spike?"

"Spike, you're the greatest. Ain't you Spike?"

"Hey Spike, that Okie is an idiot. Right Spike?"

The cartoon pooch sycophant never had a name in these cartoons.

I bet it was "Advocate."

@ican711nm,
So you're saying that when he met Obama, "Joe the Plumber" either wasn't running a business or he wasn't a plumber, right?

@Finn dAbuzz,
I have never claimed that it is. It's just light-hearted conversation. If ican gets annoyed with it, he can just stop responding.

However, since you're the one who has recently have shown quite an affinity for commenting on the quality of other people's posts and who's throwing hissy fits about what does or doesn't qualify as "meaningful contribution to the discourse in A2K", I'd be willing to contribute to that discussion by pointing out that this post of yours here is rather unlikely to qualify as a "meaningful contribution" either.

Who did Jerimiah Wright kill? He served his country as a uniformed soldier in the Viet Nam war

Which means he probably killed some Vietnamese.

Be more focused on the "birthers" and persons carrying guns where the President is speaking.

The birthers are idiots, we all know that.
But as for carrying guns where the President is speaking, there is no law against that.
As long as the person carrying the weapon has a legal permit to carry it, why are you opposed?
And in the one incident that I know of, it was a black man carrying the guns, he was outside the building where the President was speaking, and the President was inside.
Even the Secret Service said there was no crime committed and no threat to the President.
Are you now wanting to deny someone their constitutional right, just because you dont like it?

@ican711nm,
BTW, Joe the plumber's name is not "Joe." He is neither licensed or registered as a plumber, and is not even a apprentice plumber. Also, he owes back federal taxes. All of this shows that he is a good Republican, and a leader in the party.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Well, let's look at the situation. Okie made a couple of statements, with one being outright false and the other something he evidently could not back up. I called him out on these, and he responded with another false statement and a personal insult. I then called him out on the last false statement and properly described him in unflattering terms. What is wrong with that?

@Advocate,
The biggest problem with okie is his inability to know the difference between reality and creativity. He's not been able to support any of his bantering on a2k once his imagination took over his grey matter. Where it's located is anyone's guess.

Here is another really obvious stupidity of the Obama administration. Bad policy, terrible policy, to try terrorist people in New York. Former Attorney General speaks out on it, he says the obvious. This is really just elementary and basic common sense, but I guess that is totally foreign to the current bunch in the whitehouse. And it makes you wonder which side they are on?

Bush Attorney General: 9/11 Trial Offers Jihadists Platform
Michael Mukasey, the final attorney general in the Bush administration, defended military tribunals, asserting that they were created for this kind of case and noting that they were used during and after World War II.

Michael Mukasey, the attorney general at the end of President Bush's second term, ripped his successor's decision to prosecute the Sept. 11 conspirators in a federal court, saying the trial will give jihadists a forum and could compromise delicate intelligence.

Mukasey, in an interview with Fox News, called the civilian trial announced Friday by Attorney General Eric Holder "the wrong place, under the wrong circumstances, in the wrong forum."

"After 9/11, we recognized that we were at war," he said, arguing that military tribunals were created for this kind of case and noting that they have been used since the Revolutionary War and during and after World War II.

@okie,
Obama doesn't care if a trial in New York becomes political theatre, for the opportunity of jihadists to become players in the theatre, but Obama seems to really care about not having the political theatre of an investigation into the shooter at Fort Hood. Strange, almost weird, attitude displayed by Obama. He seems to care more about the jihadists than he does fellow citizens of the United States?

Obama Urges Congress to Delay Fort Hood Investigation
On an eight-day Asia trip, President Obama turned his attention home and pleaded for lawmakers to "resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater."

@old europe,
I'm saying, I don't know whether "Joe the Plumber," when he met Obama, was:
(1) running a business or was otherwiase self-employed;
(2) was employed by a licensed plumber;
(3) was employed by someone else;
(4) was unemployed.

I do know that Obama told "Joe the Plumber" "we should spread the wealth around."

That was well publicized at the time, ican, it should be well known, and it is definite that he said it. McCain used that quote in his campaigning later in an attempt to show what Obama's mindset was, but to no avail, it made no difference to most people, their minds were already made up. In other words, "full speed ahead, damn the torpedos," or "don't bother us with facts."
