@H2O MAN,

And we continue to be told something else by Obama. The devil is in the details, which was totally predictable, and predicted.

Why does the Obama administration continue to lie about the number of uninsured in this country?

The real number of uninsured in this country is 8 to 14 million, not 45 to 50 million.

Why does Obama perpetuate a lie?

I agree, but perhaps your sentence should be rephrased to read "The real number of uninsured citizens that do not have their own private health insurance because they cannot afford it and do not qualify for medicaid is perhaps in the neighborhood of 8 to 14 million, or about 3 to 5% of the citizens in this country.

Of those 3 to 5%, they all receive medical care when they show up at hospitals and clinics. So nobody goes without medical care in this country. The vast majority of all United States citizens have excellent medical insurance and medical care. Plus one of the reasons Mexicans and others come here illegally is to receive the excellent medical care available here, that they receive free when they come here illegally. How great is that?

No thanks, Lord Obama, you can keep your Obama care. Besides, CBO says it will break the bank, whats left of it. It is not even a realistic option anyway.

That's great, okie! You really should publish it more often since it's not widely accepted.

And, of course, such is even better than in countries with a mandatory health insurance! (For instance, here in Germany about 1% have no insurance.)

@Walter Hinteler,
How many illegal immigrants do you treat there, Walter? Is the following true? Where is your compassion? Or do you only care about what we are doing over here?

"Germany is home to an estimated one million illegal migrants; in Berlin alone, up to 250,000 people live without any personal identity documents. That means they also lack the health insurance card that's required to get full medical treatment here."

@okie,
Are you saying that illegal immigrants just come here for medical treatment?

Anyone gets medical treatment here, if needed. With or without insurance - in the latter case you have to pay for it yourself.

And illegal immigrants seldom go to a doctor or hospital when they can't pay for it, because otherwise they soon would be deported.

My comasion, dearest okie, is that I'm (locally) a member of national association caring for refugees and asylum seekers as well as I'm engaged in related church work.
Since I live in a more rural part of Germany, we don't have many illegal immigrants here.
(In the Francfort area, btw, it is estimated that at least 5,000 US-citizens live there illegally.)

But thanks for being concerned about my social engagement, okie!

And since you are here: you did notice that I answered your last personal question about how many people die here because they don't get medical treatment though they are insured, didn't you?

Walter, I had never heard that... could you explain why? Are these illegal US-citizens professionals, laborers, students, dissidents?

So if we applied the same practice here, do you agree the numbers of uninsured in the United States would be drastically reduced? You are aware, I hope, that many hospitals near the Mexican border here as well as other places are either in very serious financial trouble or have had to close their doors, due in large part to treating illegals? Because of Democratic liberal policy in places like California, they don't identify illegals and deport them when they come to hospitals for medical care.

This from 2005:

"L.A. Emergency Rooms Full of Illegal Immigrants
Friday, March 18, 2005
LOS ANGELES " This is part three of a five-part series looking at how illegal immigration affects U.S. border security, the criminal, health care and education systems, as well as the economy. Watch the series this week on FOX News Channel.

Overburdened by the uninsured and overwhelmed by illegal immigration (search), public health care in Los Angeles is on life support.

Sixty percent of the county's uninsured patients are not U.S. citizens. More than half are here illegally. About 2 million undocumented aliens in Los Angeles County alone are crowding emergency rooms because they can't afford to see a doctor."

@H2O MAN,
I posted a source for the number of 45 million uninsured, Squirt. It's called the US Census Bureau, the people that actually ask who has health insurance.

You provided no source for your number.

I guess being a little squirt, you haven't learned what "people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" means.

Would you care to post the wording from page 16 in the bill? Or are you just going to accept the word of an IBD editorial without checking it?

Hmmmm.. I think I know the answer to that one.

Where did you get "vast majority" and "excellent medical insurance and medical care" from?

Care to provide us with reliable sources for you claims?

What I see as our economy contracts is more Americans losing their medical insurance, and many more going bankrupt for serious medical problems that they have to pay out of pocket - because many health insurance policies have limitations to full care.

Your perception about most subjects you care to promulgate on a2k is not only based on your own ignorance, but without any basis in fact or evidence.

Please provide us with the "beef?" I know you can't.

No need to tweak the system to correct the obvious problems, Okie. The Obama administration is going to save us...and the world...from financial catastrophe of stuff costing too much by SPENDING a whole lot more money. I wonder if those folks facing foreclosure on their houses could fix that by increasing their mortgage? Or those folks being sued by the credit card companies could fix their situation by charging a whole lot more?

At least Biden is being honest about the intentions.

Quote:
(CNSNews.com) " Vice President Joe Biden told people attending an AARP town hall meeting that unless the Democrat-supported health care plan becomes law the nation will go bankrupt and that the only way to avoid that fate is for the government to spend more money.

“And folks look, AARP knows and the people with me here today know, the president knows, and I know, that the status quo is simply not acceptable,” Biden said at the event on Thursday in Alexandria, Va. “It’s totally unacceptable. And it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we wanted to keep it the way we have it now. It can’t do it financially.”

“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden said.

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.” (Listen to Audio)

@Foxfyre,
Foxfyre, I was not familiar with Biden until he ran for president, and became vice president, but I am truly astounded at how dumb this guy really is. He is a useful idiot, and I think Obama and his people figured this out before picking him for vp. He really knows nothing logical about much of anything, but speaks in platitudes, sort of a scatter approach, he runs around and makes statements blindly supporting the administration most of the time, and when he doesn't, he is simply ignored by everyone including Obama. Thus Obama has a vp that is no factor whatsoever, which is what he apparently wanted. He has his own people like Emmanuel to consult and ram through his agenda. Biden is just a guy to take a photo-op once in a while, and he constantly says dumb things but everyone has learned to consider the source. Sad situation really. If something should happen to Obama, we would be in bad shape for sure, but maybe not as bad as we are now.

What same practise, please?

Do you have something similar to a "European Health Insurance Card" in the USA? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Health_Insurance_Card]Wikipedia about it)

Your health system, okie, is different to ours (and I mean health system, not health insurance system): no-one here goes to a hospital when she/he isn't seriously ill (= accident or staying there).
If you are 'normally ill', you just go to a practise, of any kind of specialist and a generalist's.
If you don't have the above mentioned card - you pay for it. (If you can't, the doctors get their money via the town/county social departments.)

If you are seriously ill or have an accident, with or without insurance, you are treated in any hospital. (If you can't pay: see above.)

The problem with illegals is that thus they get known to the authorities.
Something they don't want - otherwise they weren't here illegally.

I suppose, okie, you haven't read that report completely, or perhaps it's due to translation from German to English that you missed this paragraph?

Quote:
But non-governmental organizations in Germany have estimated the number of illegal immigrants in the country to be between 100,000 and one million.

The BAMF, however, added that indicators -- including the number of people caught trying to illegally enter the country, raids against human trafficking and smuggling operations, and the number of crimes committed by illegal immigrants -- pointed to a nearly constant decrease in illegal immigration since 1998.

Besides that - our system is explained in you quote as well.

The rewrite works for me.

Why is it that liberals are eager to accept what PrezBO tells them and refuse to lift a finger to research the claims for themselves?
