The announcement by Mr Holder today does not end the story. It just moves it up the ladder.
The (CIA) interrogators were told by folks from the previous administration's Justice Dept that all of the techniques employed were legal. As I understand it, today's action absolves those (CIA) folks of culpability. They were within the "law."

It might also serve to loosen up some lips to more freely talk about what they know now that they don't have to protect their own skins.

Could provide some good groundwork for the case against Cheney et al.

@cicerone imposter,
And now you are qualified to speak for "most conservatives"?

Who or what made you the spokesperson?

And I would like to see some proof of what you say.
Has there been a poll done of all conservatives in the US?
Who did the poll?
When was it done?

Or would it be ok to say that "most liberals" believe that its ok to cheat on your spouse and that its ok to lie under oath because Clinton did it and we all know that liberals supported him.

Just a personal observation.

However, you are "free" to tell us what you think on the matter.

@mysteryman,
Also, when we discussed the issue about illegal wiretaps and torture on many of these threads, most conservatives agreed with the Bush policy - for our security.

Show me any different, and I'll apologize.

And when did you observe all of the conservatives in the country to give you the data needed to make the statement to begin with?

probably the same 'thing' that consistently makes you think you are the spokesperson for all veterans. I know there's one in this house that is pretty clear that you aren't his spokesperson in any way.

Your glass house is freaking enormous.

@ehBeth,
Show me even one of my posts where I have said or even hinted that I spoke for all veterans.

If I have done so, it should be easy for you to do, so prove your claim.

As far as I know, I have NEVER suggested that I spoke for all veterans.
I speak for myself, based on my experiences.
Yes, I have related what other veterans I know personally have told me, but I have NEVER presumed to speak for all vets.

If I have done so, like you claim, you should be able to prove it with no problem.
So, put up or shut up!!!

@cicerone imposter,
I didnt miss it, I ignored it.

You keep saying MOST CONSERVATIVES, yet what you should be saying is "most conservatives" that you know, or "most conservatives" here on a2k.

You cannot possibly know what "most conservatives" think because you cannot possibly know most conservatives in this country.

Your message to ehBeth is worthless when you use the same tactic.

You still haven't answered my question that I now posted twice.

@cicerone imposter,
You have said "most conservatives".
The only possible way you could know what "most" of any group of people think is to have observed the entirety of that group.

If that group is 100 people, to know what "most" of them think you would have had to observe all of them, or you would never know if you had an idea what "most" of them think or how many were in the group.

So I ask again, when did you observe ALL of the conservatives in the country?

I'm a veteran (vietnam) I understand MM sorta but that doesn't mean I agree, My understanding is that about 1/3 vietnam vets deplored what they did. I could be wrong. personally I spent way too much time in regret but I was only a child at the time.

@dyslexia,
According to ehbeth I have either claimed that I did or have insinuated that I have, so I guess she was wrong after all.

Of course, I'm still waiting for her to back up her claim, but I doubt if she ever will.

@mysteryman,
No, I clarified my statement by saying "it's my observation based on comments made on a2k threads." Not exactly those words, but the meaning is the same.
