I can't be 100% sure, but I just think you are a bit gullible that these guys in Washington are that dumb. I happen to think that people in public service, politicians, supposedly smart people, are very likely aware that political favors such as what Daschle received are taxable. We are not talking about a guy loaning him a car and driver for a Sunday spin, ci. Now, lets say it was innocent, I think it shows at the very least he is too dumb to serve as an appointee. I choose to hold them accountable, and if it was Bush doing this, you would not be defending these guys at all. You are showing yourself to be so partisan that you are blind to your own naivity.
As Obama continues to back this stuff, his political capital continues to erode, which I think is good and deserved. He never earned the capital in the first place, he is a greenhorn political organizer of dubious credentials with no experience, that the media trumped up as the great Messiah, all total baloney.
You have no evidence that he didn't conveniently ignore the need to pay taxes, except his word, which I wouldn't depend on.
