@spendius,
Grannies are a-dyin' all the time. By the million I should think. You don't even need to be a granny in some places.

Hysteria. Get a grip. Obama is not Chavez.

He would like to be. He hopefully will not be able to be, by the constraints of the system, but he will try to change it, no doubt in my mind. Obama and Chavez are birds of a feather.

Sure, sure. Who needed an Age if Info anyway? What would people do with a little thing like the Info Highway? Elect Obama?

On Newsnight last night a gun shop owner was interviewed. It was a large shop with a lot of guns on display. He said that there was a surge in sales and he also said that if Obama loses there will be riots.

@spendius,
There surely would be riots. Foul play would be a near certainty.

Considering the distance to the Crab nebula and the speed of any debris coming from it, I don't think we have to worry about that for several hundred thousand years if not over a million.

I thought that it was generally agreed that the foul plays evened out. In that case, political sophisticates would shrug, and any riots would have another reason.

How many political sophisticates are involved I do not know and if I hazarded a guess some impulsive A2Kers would probably think I had a low opinion of American politics and that is almost the opposite of the truth. The less political sophisticates there are the better in my opinion.

I've always admired your low turn-outs. It was reassuring. We had a three-day week, baton charges and taking turns of the electricity supply during our high turn-out period. Mr Blair's greatest achievement was to get it down to your levels. And now your's is going up.

The thought of A2Ker's political sophisticates getting within a mile of the levers of power is nightmare tackle.

Well alright then--the Sun going off on one. It might already have happened and we have a few minutes left. 8 minutes or so if it happened just now.

Do you not understand poetic licence or are you just trying to be obstuse for the fun of it.

I seen it a million times yesterday as well during Rachel Maddox and some show on CNN last night. Not watching the news today, thought I would just wait until tonight.

@revel,
Seeing plenty of it, and little else, in Wisconsin too. Just serves as evidence that McCain doesn't understand how to manage money. Wisconsin is not, and never has been on the table for him. May as well be rolling it in California.

The circumstances of which are tragic, but this photo may be one of the most powerful images I've seen in some time.

While it is nothing special to see a man's tears, it is another thing to see the tears of men and women who are our champions. We often forget the human element of those who lead our country. That they aren't invincible. They live under the same sun as us, and the hurt they feel can cut just as deep.

I'm working on my blog post about the McCain and Obama Rallies I went to over the last 3 days. I'll post it up today sometime.

Life Imitates "The West Wing"
If you notice some uncanny similarities between the 2008 presidential campaign and the final seasons of "The West Wing," there's a good reason. Torie Bosch explains.

Tears in Philly

A female African-American correspondent writes in:

Here in Philly, I have never in my life seen so many black men crying let alone crying as they left the voting precinct. My friends who also are canvassing and working the polls have noticed the same thing. Young and old. In the black community, it's unheard of.

Obama's Nevada State Director Dies

Terence Tolbert, Barack Obama's Nevada state director, died suddenly of a heart attack yesterday. He was 44, and a former senior aide to New York City schools chancellor Joel Klein and mayor Michael Bloomberg.

That is just too sad...
