I felt the "whoosies" a bit myself I must admit.

No worries though. I've booked myself into a clinic.

Spendi is pulling (trying to pull) our collective plonkers, bless him.

Mr Bush's financial insights are revelatory, however,...... about how flawed the American electoral process is.

Also reveals that there is no immunity for anyone when it comes to technology and the ability of anyone to be recorded by anyone anywhere at any time thanks to the new rules to fight terrorism that George himself signed into law. Even if you're the President, you are no longer immune from having your secretive candid moments remain so now that it is legal to do the snooping.

Rockhead, I'll be visiting Easter Island in December, and will be taking pictures of those rockheads. If you like, I can let you have one for your avatar. Do you want a frontal, backside, left profile or right profile?

I've considered my bias (decidely not in support of Obama) but still have to wonder why serious Obama supporters are exulting about the size of the German turnout for his speech.

I really can't imagine anyone, in America, who is not already supporting Obama being impressed by the turnout.

Virtually any liberal American candidate can draw big crowds in Europe, which is ironic since we have right of center governments in the UK, France, and Germany, and a rise of the right-wing throughout the continent.

Perhaps not so odd afterall.Understandably, Europeans who recognize how in thrall they are to American economics and geo-political strategy will prefer an American president who is in sync with their economic and geo-politcal sensibilities. Certainly they are apt to appreciate any that go out of their way to flatter them and exaggerate their importance in the world.

In any case, why should American moderates and independents care whether the crowd was 20,000 or 200,000 strong?

Instead I can imagine certain numbers of this folk being turned off by the spectacle of a candidate for the American presidency wooing Europeans.

There is a clever article on NRO, author escapes me, which compares the political advantages of an American candidate who appeals to Europeans with those of a Roman candidate who appealed to Greeks.

I appreciate that some of you would cut off your fingers before you keyed in the NRO URL, but others may find it of interest. Google National Review, go to the site and you will quickly find it.

This trip has been quite succesful for Obama. Hard to argue otherwise. I don't think it's paved his way to the White House, but it sure hasn't blocked that path.

I'm worrying that the cosmic fix is in. When he sunk that long range 3-pointer at a military base if Iraq, I thought "This guy is in the Zone!"

Well, I have spent almost 2 months away from this forum to try to reset my political compass and try to "get over" the Clinton loss.

Well, I'm back.......and still will not be voting for Obama.

That being said, I will not be voting for McCain.....what a bad campaign he's been running.

So, it looks like I will be writing in Clinton for president in my Illinois ballot. Of course, IL will still go to Obama with or without my vote.

Obama has been pissing me off lately.....backing out of public financing, voting for FISA being two of the biggies.

That is not true. I am fascinated why a bloke like you would want to go to Easter Island. Absolutely.

I would want wages to spend time in a dump like that. And above the minimum rate too. Considerably above.

Honestly. There's no sense in having your own opinion. Especially if you aren't going along with the herd. They will try to weed you out.

I tried OBill...I did. I was getting too pissed off at you crazy Obama people and I had to leave this site and try to judge the guy on his own. He still speaks well, but has made a few bad decisions in my eyes.

I still may vote for him.....but I can't imagine what he'd do between here and now to get my vote....maybe take Clinton's position on universal health care....

When you look at the big picture between Hillary and Obama's universal health care program, it becomes a toss-up of personal preference, but they "both" will push for universal health care - which is "the" important issue for me.

I think Obama will get us closer in the short term....but in the long term we'll be farther away. Meaning, he'll inact those low hanging fruit reforms that Clinton and him both agreed on (even McCain to an extent)....but he won't go as far as mandating coverage for everyone. There may not be another chance like we will have in 2009-2011 with democrats controlling the entire government for possibly a long time....and we're going to blow our chance at universal healthcare.

But he'll do enough that the system will limp by for another 20-30 years and nobody will risk their political career to push universal healthcare until the next major problem arises.....whenever that may be.

He practically has taken Clinton's position on Universal Health Care... from the get go. You can't possibly prefer McCain's "nothing wrong with this" stance.

A Captain Crunch write in has the exact same chance of swaying the election. However; a Captain Crunch write in would cause less division to the Democratic Party... which is the reason righties continue to come to bat for Hill people. The Net Effect of your thoughts are to weaken the opposition to the status quo.

This same argument can be made on practically every issue you can name. This is why the spite vote against a candidate who's politics very nearly mirror your own favorite's is completely illogical.

The net result of not voting, or writing in anyone is a half of vote for McCain. If you like McCain and his politics; this makes some sense. If you oppose him and/or his politics; you are still cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Don't like Obama much better than McCain? Tough luck. That's what a HUGE percentage of us had 4 years ago. Hold your nose and do what you believe to be best for your country.

Do you think I liked voting for the idiot we have today? Nope. But I believe I chose the lesser of two evils. You have it pretty easy, really: Brett Favre couldn't throw a football between Obama and your Ideal.

Think about it a little longerÂ… and be honest with yourself.
