We visited Gatti di Roma in 2008 - I don't think the cats besmirched it at all - the sanctuary does great work, and nice t-shirts...

In any case, Roman cat colonies tend to have staying power.

Did I mention the decapitated snake I found in the kitchen on Sunday morning.

Beats me how a cat that's never been out of the house knows how to kill a snake but he did well. Gross.

The little fluff brains have this remarkable ability to sleep sixteen hours a day, and stay in perfect physical condition. Remarkable, I say.

Wonderful pictures but on a different note.... we are led to believe in the West that the Chinese have such a terrible lifestyle compared to ours but look at these pictures. this woman looks happy and healthy, teeth in great shape although they not be her natural teeth, tv , well dressed, in the tub, nicely furnished living space..... makes you wonder how much we are told about China and other countries is absolutely accurate and I wonder what people in these countries are told about us. I'mnot denying there's poverty and misery in these places, hell we have poverty and misery here, I'm just saying I wonder if things are ever as bad EVERYWHERE as we're led to believe.

So true. And usually they waltz around the house (when they do) looking lithe.
