Just this once. Smile

@msolga,
Smile Let me tell you, Msolga, Miss Molly has found out early how to get me
to lift her up and carry her back into the house with that very same Show-off-the-tum
routine. I usually avoid eye contact whenever she gives me that "I'm so tired-lift me up" act.

She knows that I know she's a flirt. And don't you know, she gets away with it.

@neko nomad,
Besotted, neko nomad, you are besotted!
Come on, own up! Smile

But, off course, there are far worse things that could happen! Wink

@msolga,
And I'll add this,Ms. Olga: Miss Molly does not leave her place
on the bed - between my feet - during the night, despite her being jostled about
as I turn over while she's asleep. Never ceases to amaze me.

More than likely she enjoys the convenience of my being at hand around 4;00 A.M.
to let her outside.

@neko nomad,
Why is it, neko, that a resident critter (with the whole house & yard to inhabit, for heavens sake!) will choose the one item of apparel you've left lying around to fall sleep on? This question has always vexed me. I thought it was just my cat! Why do they choose to sleep on our clothes? (Especially ourblack clothes, if they happen have some white fur?) Wink

I miss Boris Kitten.
And I'm wondering how the job hunting is going.
If you read this, BK, good luck! Fingers crossed for you!

@msolga,
A conversation starter in the bank lineup,for sure...(oh, what's the name of your cat? Mine's ...) if there ever was one.

And here:

Dame Nekochan wants a word with the head gardener about
the state of things here. She'd clearly not pleased with
what she sees.

We're only days away from the season's opening snowfall.

Sniffle! Oh, MsOlga, that's So Sweet! It means so much to me (and Boris) to know you're thinking of us!

Well, I actually have a job, though it's the most pathetic job ever... 2.5 hours per week, tutoring kids at a local school.

Honestly, I'd make more from (US) Unemployment Compensation than from this job, yet I still plan to DO this job, partly because me (and Boris) think it's SO important for children to be able to READ.

Oh, wait, this it OT! Cripes, I tried pretty hard to take pix of Boris, who's on the arm of my chair right now, but my back-up camera is a Big Unknown to me.

I have, however, recently discovered that Boris's allergies are helped quite a bit by a simple mixture of Apple Cider Vinegar and Water, applied to the (unhappy) cat. Even the vet's monthly shots do NOT help as much as this very-simple home remedy!

@BorisKitten,
To reply to myself: Boris is allergic, according the my local vet, to "Something in the air." In Florida, this could be, well, practically anything, and possibly Everything.

Boris has looked like crap for several years now, constantly scratching/biting his beautiful fur. I somehow stumbled across a website that suggested that "cat allergies" might be helped by a simple mixture of Apple Cider Vinegar and water, mixed about 1/2 and 1/2. I've used this on Boris Kitten for the past week, and honestly it seems to help him just as much as his (very expensive) shots of Depo-Medro (as I recall) from the vet, which we can no longer afford.

I apply this 1/2 & 1/2 Apple Cider Vinegar and Water mixture to a paper towel, and apply it to Boris Kitten, mostly to his paws and upper back. He does NOT like it, but it's much better than a vet visit! His pathetic little fur seems to be growing back!

If this helps BK, it will be the first thing that really DOES help him in a few years! And gosh knows I've spent a small fortune on trying to help him.

BTW, BK is on a no-grain cat food (Innova's Evo, which is not cheap) which I get from the Internet, plus montly Advantage for fleas, plus his monthly whatever-they're-called shots from the vet, all of which have had crappy results.

@BorisKitten,
Oh, one can also mix Apple Cider Vinegar into the cat's water or food.

I've tried both of these options, and Boris will NOT consume either one. So... he gets it applied to his skin with a paper towel (strength halved).

Oh I was! I am! Very Happy

I have to go very soon, so this is a rushed reply, but I'm hoping a more suitable job (time fraction & pay-wise) comes up for you very soon. Though it sounds like you're doing a great job with the kids at the school you're working at now.

Hugs to Boris!

@BorisKitten,
Dang it! Forgot to say, I've also tried (human) fish oil capsules on Boris's food. He'll eat the food, but it doesn't help at all with his skin problems.

I also got similar capsules from the vet, formulated for cats and dogs, and they did nothing for BK, though he ate his food with them as well. They were called, I think, Derma-Caps?

I think that a while ago dlowan was bemoaning the absence of attractive cat scratchers. Just found this and thought of her:

@dlowan,
It must be like taking a photograph of someone using the loo. The cat's probably thinking, "Hey! Can I have some privacy here?!"
