Does anybody know the meaning:
" Remember that the glass can be half full and half empty simultaneously.
There are mutiple truths and, therefore, mnay ways to view a problem."
I read this topic sentence in my text book, but I cannot make any sense about this sencene.
Thanks a lot.
it's just an observation about one's attitude determining the conclusions one reaches.
I'll start with a question.
There is a glass that has a capacity of exactly 12 ounces.
It is filled to exactly the 6 ounce mark.
If I say it is "half full", am I wrong?
If I say it is "half empty", am I wrong?
It's about the optimistic or pessimistic character.
You are optimistic if you see your glass half full and pessimistic if you see it half empty.
I actually think the point with this one is that the exact same empirical truth can be viewed differently by different people. "There are multiple truths [the glass is both half full AND half empty] and therefore, many ways to view a problem."
If I remember right, rache is studying to be a nurse, and I can see how that would be pertinent in that area of study. Keeping an open mind, listening to what the patient has to say.
still confused.
is this? there are many different ways to see one issue. should listen to patient what they are view.
Yea, I am a nursing student.
I think that's about it, yeah.
Especially in medicine, there is a tendency towards black and white, right and wrong, when really a problem can often be successfully approached in a few different ways.
Thank you so much! I will up to this explaniation to develop my essay.
There is really great palce, I got lots of help here. I like here.
