No. I just spent that one dizzying day rushing around campus in buses. I still live four hours away. I'm going back Friday (my only day off) to try to straighten it out. Did you ever get a prof to override for you at UGA?

<glad you're here>

Tasty World was a couple years old when I left Athens. I was thrown a farewell party there. I don't know much about the place otherwise. I think my pal, Kevin, does sound there some nights.

I had a similar problem when I went back to school. On transfer, I lost all my calculus so I had to spend the summer retaking I and II. The problem was I needed a Statistics class in the fall, which was only ever offered in the fall, and which had Calc III as a prerequisite. If I didn't take Stats I in the fall, I couldn't take Stats II in the Spring, etc... So I registered for Calc III for the fall, and on the first day of classes I just showed up for Stats. After sitting through the class I went and talked to the instructor and explained my predicament. If he didn't let me in, it would set me back a year. Turns out he was the Calc III professor too. He asked me a bit about my background and said it would be ok to take them simultaneously and he signed off. Professors are often more willing to make these exceptions for older students because we are more likely to know what we are getting ourselves into and to do the extra work. Your case might be a bit more complicated, but I'm sure they can accommodate you.

Good luck, Lash. Make it happen. I know you can.

Good girl!! I just have to keep pressure on. I was getting disgruntled because of all the damn hurdles. Just when I think I might get a break, the hurdles get higher. I'm pushing, though. I'm going the transient route--my HOPE (financial aid) is locked in. I still have only scavenged one of the three classes I need, but I'm scheduled to take the Spanish Placement test, and ...I'm tired. Confused

Funny how simple words like these can really give somebody a boost. Thank you so much!!!

Lash keep in mind that the primary function of a Uni degree is to represent that you have migrated your way thorugh all the crap the system could throw at you and were able to duck enough of the crap to complete the degree. (sometimes secondarily is the presumption of education)

I'm beginning to see that you're right. The bullshit is the education. The rest is cake. Laughing Laughing Laughing

OK. I got the classes. Not the ones I'd choose (******* Brit Lit.) I WANTED US lit (I do love it), or Southern Lit, of Renaissance... Meh.

But, I'll take it. Very Happy

So, now I have to square away the Transient course (and pay for it) Money is starting to be the biggest obstacle. Having a Yard Sale (of pretty much everything I own) Sat. I just have to make it til the first week in August. Shocked

Speaking of-- I may disappear from here for a month or two... Laughing

I guess I can peek in from school once in a while.

If adversity makes you stronger, I'm the ******* juggernaut, bitch!
