Intersting concept: family caring

recently, I have a reading assignment about family nursing. I searched a few articles, and then I was surprised there is a big difference or mistake in my mind. family nursing means giveing care to a patient and in this process should involve the family concerns. It is not giving care to a patient who lives outside hospital.

I confused about this concept only in north america or universal?
