Tickly Cough

Reply Wed 1 Mar, 2006 06:04 am
I'm just getting over a virus I've had for the last three weeks, in this last week I've had a tickly cough that I can't shift....

No throat sweets work, I'm drinking loads of liquids, and it's keeping me awake at night! Any suggestions? Home remedies that wont' make me put on tonnes of weight?

About the only thing that works on a dry, ticklish cough is codene in a cough syrup.

Plain Robitussin is a good expectorant, and Robitussin PE is all that and a good decongestant, too.

he thing about codeine in a cough syrup is that you need a prescription, don't you?

I believe that you need a prescription for anything with codeine in it ...

It might be from dry winter air or a post-nasal drip. Do you have a humidifier? Or you can get the bathroom hot and steamy and sit in there for awhile. If it's a post-nasal drip you might try some sudifed.
