I was a bit surprised when I heard about the passing of Don Knotts and Darren McGavin, but when I found out the circumstances of their untimely deaths I was even more surprised.
Apparently they killed each other in a gunfight. Something about an argument over a small part in the Brady Bunch reunion show. MaGavin got off the first shot and mortally wounded Knotts, but Knotts, down on one knee and bleeding profusely, managed to lift his gun and fire a single shot. The bullet entered McGavin's left eye and killed him instantly.
I am going to look for a link to this story. Shocking.
There is a trifecta in play....
I saw that Gonzalez Gonzalez was wounded by stray shots and subsequently died also.
Such a senseless tragedy...
Don Knotts should have known better. His classic double take, while funny, is a liability in a gunfight.
I'm so glad Aunt Bee wasn't around to hear about this....
having to take the bullet out of the shirt pocket is what probably slowed him down.
I can't believe somebody would do that.
and now it seems that Dennis Weaver, who was in attendance at the function where the gunfight happened, was hit by a stray bullet, and is also dead.
But who shot Dennis Weaver?
This just gets more and more suspicious...
I refuse to believe this...
Don Knotts was a former MARINE!
There is no way that Mr McGavin would have gotten off the first shot.
Oh, thats just terrible! We should hold a wake ... I'll make the cake.
