1. A rooster lays an egg on a roof, and it rolls down 30 degrees. the sun is in the west. in what direction did the egg roll?
2. a plane with five people crashes in no-mans land. would they bury the survivors in east or west germany?

That always bugs me. The riddle clearly states that this rooster did lay an egg. Perhaps it was genetically engineered.

Honestly, it's been years since the last time I heard that one, and I have a 12 year old in the house. "mans" oughta be ashamed of himself.
It's possible that the rooster was a hermaphrodite with both sex organs. It displayed the traits of a male, including crowing, coloring and successful copulation with females, yet still possessed the ability to lay an egg. See? I am a smart guy.
