Dubai Ports: Shame on the Democrats!

Reply Wed 22 Feb, 2006 11:43 am
The controversy over the Dubai port company is shameful political opportunism at best and demagoguic hypocricy at worst.

Why should an respected, qualified company be excluded simply because of its nationality?

This is the fear-mongering that I hate in the Republican party-- now being used by prominant Democrats Clinton and Shumer. This is a knee-jerk reaction ("Oh no, its the Arabls") with no real reason. No one has shown any reason, other than ethnicity that this company would harm security in the least.

Democrats who are just trying to be Republicans bug me. They are never going to beat the hawks in the "harsher security" column... they should be standing on principle rather than politics.

This is another (now unecessary) point in my "reasons not to vote for Hillary". Let's talk about real rights and real security. Homeland Security is to important to be crassly used as a political tool.

It is painfully obvious that the Zionists are having some of our ports turned over to an Arab company, to set up the patsy for the new super 9/11 that they have planned to hit our nation.

For further reading about this, the links below serve as a good primer to educate folks of this.

This must be "agree with ebrown" day. I think there are only two legitimate objections. If we object to international companies running our ports, that's one thing and should be applied equally. Otherwise, the UAE company should not be disqualified automatically. The only other valid objection is that it is a government owned company. I'm still not sure what the possible downsides to this are, but acknowledge that it's a valid question to ask.

I think what Zippo has failed to consider in this scenario are the devious machinations of the Freemasons, the Illuminati, the Trilateral Commission, the grey aliens, the surviving members of the Bee Gees, and the reverse vampires.

UAE royals, bin Laden's saviours

March 25, 2004 12:04 IST

The Central Intelligence Agency did not target Al Qaeda chief Osama bin laden once as he had the royal family of the United Arab Emirates with him in Afghanistan, the agency's director, George Tenet, told the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks on the United States on Thursday.

Had the CIA targeted bin Laden, half the royal family would have been wiped out as well, he said.

Former Senate chief Dole hired to lobby for Dubai port deal
RAW STORY
Published: February 22, 2006

CNN reported on air Wednesday that former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-KS) has been hired by Dubai Ports World to lobby for the approval of a deal that would give the company control of several major U.S. ports, RAW STORY has learned.

CNN's Andrea Mitchell reports: "The Dubai-based company at the center of a controversy over the management of six U.S. seaports has hired former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole to lobby on its behalf against bipartisan criticism of the deal, a Dole aide said Wednesday.

"The 1996 Republican presidential candidate was "engaged" by Dubai Ports World shortly after lawmakers on both sides of the aisle began expressing their strong opposition to the deal, said Mike Galloway, an aide to the retired senator.

"He is considered a GOP elder statesman, and his wife, Elizabeth, now represents North Carolina in the Senate.

"Dole is a special counsel in the Washington office of the law firm Alston & Bird. DP World hired the firm in 2005 to help shepherd its purchase of the British-based firm Peninsular and Oriental, which currently manages the U.S. ports, Galloway said. --From CNN Correspondent Andrea Koppel (Posted 2:43 p.m.)

How quickly we forget the uproar when a Chinese company (Actually in Hong Kong) was all set to take over control of the Panama Canal.

Weren't there calls for Clinton's impeachment over that? The GOP made this bed. Too bad they don't want to lie in it now.

The GOP have rung the "Wolf" bell too many times over foreign companies running strategic areas strategic to the US. They can't attack the Dems over this without looking extremely foolish for their history. The Dems certainly shouldn't have jumped on this one but they are hardly the only ones that did. Lots of GOPers are looking at it askance too.

Gosh, Hilary is a senator for New York and the Jewish vote is critical. You know, the Jews can be very, very 'eye for an eye'. It's a tough position.
