I may or may not have to pay for half of the new puter. Working for your sibling is tough, having a sibling work for you is tough. In the begining we wanted to make the work relationship as professional as we could. But, it was impossible to keep up. I pay for my own health care and my milage, etc. I don't get bonuses like I would from another employer as a nanny. But, I get some cool perks......
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I know you lack some benefits, but those perks are benefits too ;-)
So, when do you get your brand new baby?
Got it this evening! It's verra nice! I guess I'll be spending some time switching things over, but I'm in no rush. I can't seem to access a2k from the Acer........ got a ticket from the contact window.
It truly is a beauty. zoooo shiiiny.
If we journey back to page two of this thread we will find....

Surely a simple "thank you" should be forthcoming.

Gus, you're brilliant! I don't know how my b-in-l could have made this decision without your input!
I was hoping for a thank you from littlek, but the fact that dag also threw one my way is icing on the cake.
I walk away a satisfied and complete man.
Aw, sorry Gus. Thanks for your highly valued opinion.
anything for you, gus dahling.
Hey, congrats Littlek and have fun with it :-D
I'm looking forward to hearing all about your new machine :-D
So I've been saving the computer ads for the past week or so to make a comparison chart and now I've read all 133 posts here. I think I am ready.

I've decided on getting an abacus. I need to find one that goes wireless.
Joe - tell us what you decide on.

I hear they can be very fast if you know how to use them, but the wireless model is very pricey

I bought a top of the range mac mini in november and love it, let me repeat LOVE IT, it is beautiful, fast reliable and no spyware trojans etc. My mom was told to by a PC cos she is doing her masters and she is a completle techno phobe anyway she sat down infront of the Mac and I had her surfing the net and typing on MS word for mac in i'm not joking 5 minutes Macs really are no nonsense easy to use machines with great support and super cool looks. Anway my mom bought the lower end mac mini and she loves it too and is on it at least 3-4 hours a day and this is from a women who wouldn't go near computers a month ago. Anyway windows Xp and all that is definitely a thing of the past to me and can't say I miss it.
Of course, my computer heard me telling you that I was looking for a new one and decided to kill itself. Tuesday morning, I was on this site and had a few other things open -NYT-Slate-my MONEY program- and I punched into NPR on Windows Media player and the screen went a color I had never seen before... .
So, after three days of very long phone calls, (details on the blog in a few days), I am rebuilding.
I did save a lot of things. I did have a lot of backups on writings and family genealogy. Lost however was a scrapbook file belonging to my sweetie. She bought a new laptop for herself yesterday. Fab Gateway Write-on Screen (artists, you know), more about that later too.
More rebuilding now.
Joe(I am still thinking about a new computer.)Nation
