Phoenix--

Canadian geese are not pleasant park animals. Loose as a goose is an euphemism.

123321 - I think you'll have noticed that there were different views on what loosey goosey means. It has different connotations in different countries.

In this part of Canada it usually refers to a relaxed, comfortable attitude about things. It doesn't refer to intelligence as it appears to in New Zealand.

Where I used to live on Long Island, there was a county park, that had a nice lake. The problem is, that there was an invasion of Canada Geese. One of the park rangers told me that in the last few years, the geese had not returned to their grounds in the north. They, and their "residue" were all over the place.

I remember taking my granddaughter to the park, when she was little. She loved to be with the geese, but I had to watch her to make sure that she did not get goose poop all over herself.
