Do you think that a Japanese drink will go well with the Chinese cat?

I was thinking more along the lines of a Pino Grigio.

HA!

I thought that post was absolutely effin' hilarious. I was all eager to see how others reacted to it!

But you're right, noone did.

Like I already said somewhere else, I seem to have a sense of humour thats somewhere wholly else than most here ... bit too sick or too twisted, perhaps. Threads that I consider tepidly cheesy rather than funny seem to be endearingly cutied about by the mass, whereas something I'd consider funny is often frowned at / ignored. Perhaps you just had to be there ;-)

I liked it...I just didn't have time to laugh.

Anyhoo, I thought it would get pulled, and I'd just look nuts.

I couldn't find a good cat recipe on the web. Perhaps one of our Chinese contributors could help?

Oh wait! I found a delicious recipe for Cat Stroganoff:

Catf Stroganoff Recipe

1-2 lb. grass-and-fish-fed round Siamese Cat (cut in cubes or strips)
2 T olive oil
2 T butter
1/2 C diced onions
1-2 garlic cloves
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 T soy sauce
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 C sour cream
8 oz. wide egg noodles

Melt oil and butter in pan. Add cat to pan. When beef is browned, remove it from the pan.

Add onions, garlic, mushrooms and sauté until onions are glazed and clear.

Add soups, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce while stirring to combine.

Add sour cream and stir. Add browned cat. Baked covered in 275 degree oven 2-3 hrs. or cook in crock pot on low.

Serve over wide cooked egg noodles.

I prefer this with cellophane noodles.

Transparency in cooking as in government.

Wow, who'd have thought. Well, who wouldn't have, really. Of course there are cat meat recipes on the net.

Quote:
BEER ROASTED CAT

1 cat cut into roast
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup
1 cube of beef bouillon
1 clove of garlic
1 Fine Irish Stout, like Guinness

Cover and soak cat roast in salt water for 24 hours. Drain water and then cover and soak in beer for 6 hours. Drain and place in crock pot with your cans of soup. Add a clove of garlic, and a cube of beef bouillon. If you start to slow cook your cat in the morning with your George Foreman Cooker (or it's ilk), you'll have finely cooked feline in time for supper.

If a slow cooker is not available, a cat can be baked at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours in a conventional oven and still come out pretty good. Beer Roasted Cat is fantastic served with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and fresh, homemade egg rolls. When planning a full meal just remember- cat is a course best served hot!

Also, from a lengrthy article that appears to go through all the historical, cultural and envoronmental aspects of people eating cats (Cats - friend or food), this 16th century recipe:

Quote:
This recipe for "Roast Cat as It Should Be Prepared" is from Ruperto de Nola, Libro de Cozina, 1529: Take a cat that should be plump: and cut its throat, and once it is dead cut off its head, and throw it away for this is not to be eaten; for it is said that he who eats the brains will lose his own sense and judgement. Then skin it very cleanly, and open it and clean it well; and then wrap it in a clean linen cloth and bury it in the earth where it should remain for a day and a night; then take it out and put it on a spit; and roast it over the fire, and when beginning to roast, baste it with good garlic and oil, and when you are finished basting it, beat it well with a green branch; and this should be done until it is well roasted, basting and beating; and when it is roasted carve it as if it were rabbit or kid and put it on a large plate; and take the garlic with oil mixed with good broth so that it is coarse, and pour it over the cat and you can eat it for it is a good dish.

And from a website called Endangered Recipes, which also features Marinated Fried Blue Whale:

Quote:
Cat Stew

Ingredients:

2 lb Lean Cat Meat (look for an extra lean cut)

1 Tbsp Olive Oil

1 Large Onion, Chopped

4 Medium Carrots, Sliced

2 Medium Potatoes, Cut Into Pieces

2 Medium Celery Stalks, Sliced

2 cups Small Mushrooms

1 tsp Dried Thyme

1 tsp Ground Mustard

1 cup Water

1 cup Dry Red Wine

1 (16 ounce) can No-Salt Added Stewed Tomatoes

3 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour

Trim all excess fat from the cat and cut into cubes. Heat olive oil in a large soup pot over medium-high heat until hot. Add cat and quickly brown on all sides. Add remaining ingredients except flour, salt and pepper to taste and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer approximately 1 hour or until cat is cooked and vegetables are tender.

You could always substitute rabbit. Or, maybe even a hybrid.
