Why would union employee be loyal to a company over their union, when their company clearly violates a chunk of the union agreement that actually serves to benefit the union employee? Why would said union suggest that other new union members forget about the union?

please help me understand this stupidity!!1

What would you do if you've been personally targeted by a person and laid off for something that everyone else did as well.

For example,

Lets say you finish work at 4:00, but stop working at 3:58 along with everyone else. Everyone else is waiting with you. A supervisor comes and singles you out and says they will dock your pay for stopping 2 minutes early. Everyone is present, but only you are singled out.
