I'm kind of a rock philistine. Because I found out I was losing my hearing at sixteen and was severely warned that loud music would render me deaf MUCH MUCH earlier, I have avoided it to the best of my ability. Since much of this music is played, and is designed to be played, at levels I find unbearable anyway ( don't know if that's part of the going deaf process?) that hasn't been all that hard.

It means I am simply not the contemporary music aficionado that most people are.
