And they're absolutely sure it's not just an after-effect of all the hot air that Thoreau expelled while he was there?

@patiodog,
So global warming began with Thoreau. Live and loin.

I always feel uncomfortable with that "loin"...coming, as it does, from a predator.

Shivers a little.....

@dlowan,
Quit your shivering, bunny. This predator couldn't catch a snail stuck in molasses these days.

Nice to know I've got some menace. We predators do have our standards.

Not as menacing as a stinky pair of work boots.

Pshaw to you.

@dlowan,
Okay, fine, but that necrotic, infected, pus-oozing, 2-inch-long polyp we pulled out of kitty's ear today would at least make you crinkle your nose.

I never said anything about necrotic, infected, pus-oozing, 2-inch-long polyps, you know, just work boots.

Oh how you must love your job!!!!

I think this everytime Miranda eats too much grass, and gets all her poohs connected by tough strands of said grass, and they get all stuck, and she comes screaming and yelling for help, and I have to grab the one sticking out of her bum (I use toilet paper to assist) and hold on tightly while she runs away and the firmly grassed togther string of poohs unwind like cotton from a spool, and are left in my hand.

Good times.

@dlowan,
Yes, I suppose if I think back to my childhood I do remember riding in the back of the family car through across the heartland and seeing herds of happily munching felids at pasture, the air redolent with the semi-sweet scent of cat manure...

You think that is sarcastic....but my last two cats have been dedicated grazers.

When still in my previous house, when let out, they would head for the lawn and graze contentedly for a number of minutes.
