ACTUALLY, unless an admin locks a thread it never technically "ends" as it can always be resurrected at some point in the future. The thread simply enters a dormant or latent period.
I did that when I first got here and its cuz I couldnt see the date. I just automatically thought that they were brand new. It wasnt that I couldnt see it, it was just that I didnt know where to look for it.
