Didn't they rub plastic poles on rabbit fur to demonstrate static electricity for you when you were a young'un?

Sheesh. Can't be slyly lacivious if people don't even have the proper educational background to appreciate it...

That may have ended.

This will definitely have a chance.

I'm a horrible memorizer, so I'm fond of mnemonics (generally the dirtier the better) when I've got to commit a list to the old noggin.

So in looking at bacterial causes of bovine abortion, I flop out the first letters and try to makes something of them.

Campylobacter fetus venerealis
Haemophilus somnus
Ureaplasma diversum
Mycoplasma bovigenitalium
Brucella abortus
Actinomyces pyogenes
Listeria monocytogenes
Leptospira spp.
Salmonella spp.

CHUMBALLS cause bovine abortion. Beautiful.

And that actually helps you to memorize that whatever-it-is you're memorizing? Amazing. A mind like yours is wasted on A2K. Me, I'd remember 'chumballs' and totally forget what those letters stand for. In fact, I've forgotten already.

Well, see, all those words actually mean something to me. I just need the memory cue.

I won't even tell you how I remember the names of the cranial nerves, but it's been working for three years now. A bit beyond the pale for a family forum, though.

The lascivious I got...I contest the degree of slyth.

But no, we never HAD any rabbit fur, except the ineptly tanned skin of my friend, Barbara's pet rabbit, Rodney, after he died.

And we treated him with respect as in life.

Seems odd that anywhere in Oz should have been without scads of rabbit pelt. Were you raised in a house balanced atop the fence, BunBun?

They're in the BUSH, Patio.

They don't run rampant in the cities.

Our city is full of 'em. Seattle was full of 'em.

I gotta say, I am underwhelmed by the cosmopolitan nature (or lack thereof) of the Australian rabbit.

Well, perhaps the cosmopolitan cats, foxes, dogs and cars in the city limit the cosmopolitan options of the wabbits?

Wasn't the original topic about ending the thread? Shouldn't we focus on that?

I think that was proved a lost cause a couple hundred pages ago.

But if you think you can do it, go crazy.
