What, EXACTLY, does that "contractile vacuole" do?

And what do you mean what?

Can't you guess the meaning of yclept from that play on it?

Well, I guess there is no brain marked on that photo of you, is there?

fearing another response comaprable to the "Ewwwwww" you bleated earlier, i will nonetheless address this query of yours:
the contractile vacuole (of course) contracts, thus stimulating the anal pore to expel waste.

the brain -- HIGHLY developed for such a tiny creature -- is the light green starfish-shaped object clearly visible just above the food vacuole...

Is there an anal pore on that end, too, or are we going to have a constipated microbe in our water glass?

Constipated?

Form follows function....with two arseholes and no brain, I suspect constipation is a vanishingly small threat....

Notice the presence of the conjunctive "or" in that sentence, applying that the two situations described -- presence of anterior pooper and absence of anterior pooper -- are presented as alternatives. If pooper --> no consto. If no pooper --> consto.
