OOOOOOOO Wha
OOOOOOOO Wha
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop(ahh)
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop(ahh)
Sittin' in a native hut
All alone and blue
Sittin' in a native hut
Wonderin' what to do
Along came a native girl
(Lash!)
Did a native dance
It was like a Paradise
Put me in a trance
Goin' Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Joined her in her dancin spree
Felt my spine a tingle
Held her tight and close to me
MAN I'm glad I'm single
Then she showed me what to do
First I was amazed
Soon I learned a step or two
Put me in a daze
Goin' Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
You can do the Coco Bop
Now's no time to stop
Left her for a night came back
Bring em side by side
A single pitch
Last two steps
Now you're gonna glide
Keep along the rythm track
Girls be showin' how
Now you start to arch your back
Man you got em now
Goin' Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy bop
Shimmy shimmy coco bop shimmy shimmy AHHHHHH!

If I focus on the last 7 years all I have is childcare. Looks pretty slim.

Could you use some good references, rather than just equating your time with childcare?

Think of some specific experiences connected to the childcare--and get some letters of reference that detail those specific items that may be sought after on your resume? <general idea>

MMmmmm..... unfortunately, my major reference is also my sister (and/or brother-in-law). I dunno what specifics I could make note of.... being on time? Handling tough situations? Not getting into car accidents?

I realize this is heresy and doesn't fit with the real world, but I think waiting on tables and working in a bar are useful for knowing how to deal with people. But I'm not hiring...

they both are totally helpful. Dealing with drunks has similarities with dealing with kids (patience, thinking on one's feet, mediating, etc) and handling the chaos of the bar, too. But, I was told not to list bar work.

That's the kind of thing I was talking about--people skills, etc--only stated more resume-y.

You may want to google resume tip kind of stuff--how to maximize your job description.

If I find anything, I'll bring it back.

A boss's reference from the bar doesn't even have to mention that you worked at a bar--it can just be a generic professional reference about you.

The bar doesn't exist anymore and the boss has lost everything to drugs. Not really an option. I have been looking online.

I will go back to the counseling center - should have gone today. I need to get a resume out for part-time work for the fall.

You were not just a babysitter, Kris. You were an early childhood educator and you were terrific at it. You need to pull out all of the skills you used everyday and describe them. Parse it out. You planned learning experiences for those kids. Maybe it wasn't as planned out as it would be in a classroom, but they were lessons just the same. You were their first teacher.

I was one of their first teachers. Ok. Nature walks, healthy eating habits, literacy, art/crafts, communications skills........ I hate selling myself, it always sounds so cheesy. But, I guess that's what resumes are all about.

It's just like the dilemma a stay-at-home mom faces when she goes back into the workforce. Was the time she spent with the kids of no value?
